It looks very nice . However, I had to wade through 40 minutes of baloney to see the floor plan. Take a tip from Dean at Leisure Travel Vans - he now shows the interior first before opening every exterior space and giving a little story about each one. It's wonderful, and I watch the whole presentation because I have seen the most important features first. I don't care what's in all those exterior cubbies if I don't like the floor plan.

As a current Ekko owner I definitely see some features I like above the Ekko. The cabinets and fit and finish seemingly exceeds the Ekko in several ways. I honestly don't like the rear entrance, lack of counter space in the galley, the lack of delegated sleeping quarters and not enough ground clearance for an AWD rig. I'll stick with my Ekko. It serves my needs better than I think this might. Another thing, the younger kid is articulate and knowledgeable while the older guy is obnoxious in his failed attempt to be the everything guy. Typical salesman persona.

I watched both videos and they will not show how hard or time consuming it is to either make the bed or put it away, which makes me assume it is tricky or takes a lot of time, also I notice the guys can not lay north south without hanging head or feet on the arm rests, if those do come off, I would like to see how hard it is to do. There is a lot I like about this camper but the bed is a definite downer. Please show in some video how hard it is to actually set the bed up and have it usable by a normal person to sleep on it, not just lay down and put your head on an arm rest. Thanks guys, good video, especially if you like seeing Nick play with the fridge doors, which by the way LTV has had for several years.

The Chinook is a nice unit. I like it better than the Ekko. However, the banter was overwhelming for me and I grew tired. It took quite a while for them to get inside the RV and I just got antsy for the punchline. I'm really not usually critical of a video, but it was over 50 minutes and I believe it probably could have been cut down to 25-30 minutes tops without all the chit-chat. I think it's an interesting RV and has some good features. And it has some room for improvement. Seatbelts in the dinette and couch. To safely take more people on a day trip to a sporting event or the city. And more counter space to make meal prep easier. Now, about the constant comparisons to LTV, or anyone else for that matter. Please knock it off. It's unprofessional. I don't own an LTV in case you are wondering. But there must be a dam good reason they have a 3-year backlog. Can't all be because of Dean's amazing sales skills. Even though the guy could sell snow to the Eskimos. Say, wouldn't Chinook love to be in that position with a multi-year backlog? Focus on building something people love and you will. Until then it's a good idea to be a little humble.

I love the fact this is able to provide me all my water needs during the winter months. I drive from Wisconsin to Arizona for biking and to Montana for skiing every winter with our 2021 Coachman Beyond AWD, Li3, on the awesome Ford Transit, and it has to be winterized, de-winterized and sometimes winterized again to go home to Wisconsin. If I could ask for one thing to be different on this Chinook, it would be to make it 22 feet long so that I can park it at my parking spaces where I go. At 24 feet I’m required to park at remote lots in Arizona and Montana.

Glad you commented on this too, I thought the ground clearance was extremely low for being a 4 x 4. I’m sure it’s nice so you don’t have to hook up chains when you’re on the highway but as far as going up any mountains or trails I’m sure you have a high chance of scraping. Other than that beautiful design, beautiful layout going to check to see if they have this in 2 Wheel Drive just watched the video. Thank you.

@@peckerpeter2078 I agree: This is WAY too low to the ground...and don't even think about going "off" road with it. But a Class B+ is too large fro me anyway, and looks too "Class C" like for me, so I'd ONLY be looking at Class Bs myself. Still, most Bs out now seem to share the main (and huge!) defect this Chinook B+ has: TOO LOW to the pavement! Consequently, I'd pass on this right up front due to it being only inches above the road surface (like other Bs I've seen with the generator down there even closer to the road surface) -- hitting some debris on the road will likely case serious damage. It's not even worth looking at what ELSE this Chinook offers (meaning, watching the complete video) due to this design flaw -- so I didn't bother. The best "small motor-home" for me would be a true Class B, AND on a Ford Transit chassis, with Ford's FX4 pkg (forget this ridiculous almost-useless AWD) AND some LIFT to take advantage of true 4x4 capability -- it's really THAT damn simple. But the "B-Makers" STILL don't get it or are in-denial to what more and more of us are wanting nowadays (like boon-dockers/overlanders) Or, they KNOW but simply refuse to produce it (no, I'm not interested in ANYTHING MB Sprinter and/or diesel so forget Winnebago's Revel and the Jayco knock-off of it). What dummies they all are... -- BR

@@billredding2000You know the old Volkswagen camping bus had it right, 30mpg too. These new RVs are homes on wheels and they cost about the same. For the price that they want to fetch they should be offering 30+ miles per gallon along with a Boondock feature that lets you camp for a month at a time , that feet will be even harder in California since they want to get rid of the generators .The way inflation is most people have to live in these things just to survive + a retirement check. Regular fuel is five dollars a gallon diesel cost even more at that price. Even millionaires will be second-guessing taking cross-country road trips especially when you just bought a new rig that’s almost 200 K. I really do prefer the Ford class C’s under 26 foot under myself. That’s what I’ve been looking at the Ford transit class B and a 4 x 4 package with the bathroom in the back is the best class B off grid Boondock set up I’ve seen. You do pay considerably more though for the class B and get a little bit extra fuel mileage , I think it’s great for a single or maybe two people three would be really crowded. Price point+ needs with all the amenities with a good build quality that won’t leak. RVs are meant to put on miles and go places. It’s no fun when you can’t travel.

As a former Carnival worker and worked in the kitchens at the Daytona racetrack, I know the Chinook is a popular RV. You never see them with a for sale sign. Winnebago, all the time. I think that says a lot. Once someone buys a Chinook they only sell it to upgrade, never out of buyer regret, and by the time they get rid of it due to mileage, it's ready to retire on a permanent parking spot. Might still get lived in during winter off season by the help. I know a gal in Arkansas managed to find a used one with quite a bit of mileage and she traveled in it extensively for business and pleasure and very few issues even when it was old. Most RVS would have been toast by then.

Well he is driving down the 10 freeway and decides he wants a drink so he engages his cruise control and gets up and goes to get a drink. Problem the freeway wasn’t just straight it had a big curve. This is not a great "Class B or B+" van in my opinion...it is just a small class C...What makes a Class B or B+ van is its flexibility on being off road and go to places where bigger RVs cant go...the cons on this van as a class B is...1- to low to the ground so you could not drive it to remote areas...2- The black and grey water hoses are way to low allowing you to only drive in "paved areas" and to rely on a "dump station"...3- No storage at all for "sports gear" bicycles, boards, Kayaks and so on...Is not a bad van but deff an "Oxymoron" on the Class B or B+ category to be compared with the Ekko...Sad to say but only the Ekko still somewhat offering the best option...Again is sad that unfortunately the US is way behind in the Class B / B+ compared to the models in Europe...Im glad that finally Wingman is coming to the US with the Oasis 540... but is way too small..(After spoken to "Tonny" rep of Wingamm US...they will also import the Oasis 610) Now the Oasis 610 GL would be the perfect "Ekko Killer" among several other great European RVs...Dont even let me get started with the German Models RVs makers (Not mentioning that they are better in quality and around $50K cheaper them US in most classes)...Again...Sad to say...the US is at least about 10 to 15 years behind Europe specially when it comes to Class B vans. PS. One of the reasons why the US is behind on Class B vans is due to the fact the Europe is much older them US with much smaller roads...so since the 60s they have been making campers and later known as Class B vans/Rvs.

Unfortunately for me it does not has a "garage" or storage for my gear..."surf board, bike, kayak"...but as I said...for whom does not has that many "sports toys" as I do...that is in my pinion the best class B ever...and off course as I mention in the previous comment...it is an European brand coming to the US

@@xochiltrodriguez428 So we are in the same boat... In our case the only good choice based on price, size and what we need is this 2 options "for now"... The Travato 59GL...Pros - Perfect size and has all we need in terms of "housing" with a "small garage"...Cons - Not a big starage room for our toys unless you contract someone to build you a "box garage" to attach to the back...And is Not a 4x4 and it sits on a Dodge. frame... Then we have the Ekko...It has all we need...nice bathroom, nice size fridge, great garage and more room for storage if you don't option for the "outside kitchen", on a transit Echo booster engine and all wheel drive... The cons... Just a little too big at 22 to 23 feet...but is not bad... also the the dually (2 wheels on back burns too much gas) ... the beds are actually to big and I wish I had even more storage instead. They are both by winnebago ... The good thing about winnebago is that you have technicians all over the US if you need something to be fixed...However still they are not the ultimate RVs class B...Ive seeing all other brands and none of them are as good in terms to offer what "you and I need"...In my opinion the Wingmman Oasis 610 GL or ST would be perfect...cause there is a small bed on the back that could be used as storage room or as a nice bed for your dog...but they are not available in the US yet...but hopefully buy 2025 they will and also other options. I just don't get why the US is SO far behind Europe in the camper?! The Canadian Wonder Van is even better than what we are putting out.

Awesome job Chinook for an AWD, well equipped, 4 Season and durable Camper Van! The interior is well laid out, with a multi-use sleep area, well appointed kitchen and a split bathroom. Missed a big chance to show how it rides, and no video of the roof top. Are the windows dual-paned? The Maverick is 8 inches longer. Which means the Gray water & Black water exhaust pipes are even more vulnerable to scraping the ground in regular road driving. Therefore, owners shouldn’t really drive off-road unless they’re willing/prepared to deal with damaged or ruined Black water exhaust pipes. Given a choice, I would go for the shorter version because of the less-likelihood of damaging the water exhaust pipes.

It is great to see Chinook back on the market. More competition hopefully means more prices go down...hopefully. Hey, does the "Clap On Clap Off" option come with the Chinook?

I had to skip forward to see the interior, I don't want to have to take down and put up a bed every day to move around. Unless a floor plan similar is available it is the EKKO for me.

It's unfortunate the layout requires the black tank drain sticking out down under the back of the rig. Just waiting for the first dip to scrape off the T-valve and watching your tank dump in your mirror.. "I was wondering why everyone behind me had their windshield wipers on"...

Look like at least one of them would have looked different, fully loaded extra wide body, pull down bed in the rear or sofa bed in rear with separate shower, and refrigerator with bottom freezer. Chinook 23ft or 24ft that is ready for the cold weather and hot weather. We know we are dreaming and we look forward to buying one but not the one that look alike with just different length and name but the same look. JR & Gi

Copy that…I think the difference in name just has to do with the chassis being different…the transit one is longer, yes same floor plan though with a bit more storage…the Transit is way better than the Sprinter in My opinion

@@strangerpalooza An 8 inch longer couch instead of a small storage spot would have been much better. as a solo traveler (me and my dog) it would have been nicer to have a couch that the rear cushions could be removed and have a full twin size bed, instead of having to lay my head on an arm rest like in the videos. Also is there an option to get the lounge chairs at the dinette like the older Chinooks had, I loved those chairs, very comfy.

Hank, Nick, Seth, thank you very much. As a prospective buyer, I am trying to comprehensively understand the differences, pros and cons on a B compared to B plus’s. Is there a website you would recommend that would delineate this? Seth, how is the drive of the Maverick compare to a B van on a Ford chassis? Nick, I can see Sunshine RV takes care of training new buyers, but since most companies only give a few years of warranties, where can one go to get service (not for the Ford itself)? Thank you all

You’re welcome PD…So far as I know SSRV and a few other places out there service the “House” or “RV” side…and in my opinion the Transit drives better than the Sprinter…and is easier to get serviced at a Ford dealership

Love the finishes, pretty coach, but does not have near enough storage for what I need. The Coachmen 20XG is same length, huge cargo bay and a full size bed that raises and lowers. You can store so much stuff in the bay. For me, showing dogs; huge dog crate for 2 dobermans plus exercise pens, chairs, supplies, etc. Just cannot do that in one of these. There are literally millions of people who travel and show dogs in the US and the RV industry pretty much ignores them.

A non-compressor refrigerator !!!! Way behind the times. Why not a ceiling drop down queen bed as in sooo many European models? If this was a fresh design why not cherry pick all the current best layouts? Love the rear door and straight walk through as well as the split bath.

No thanks, currently have Wayfarer LW with the biggest garage and quality plus!! Besides garage double door swing out storage, giving 130 cf of outside storage! Like Wonder LTV too but Fords transit clearance is low. On B like Grech but no outside storage but could put on tear a stowaway carrier. Love Lola, Hank and the character Nick, what a hoot and if I were to sell I would definitely contact Sunshine but live in Oregon so ?? Team Palooza and Sunshine 🤩

Looks like it’s only 4 inches off the ground. I’d rip things right out from under it just pulling out of the driveway. This is so frustrating with motorhomes. Too much rear overhang and generally not enough ground clearance. Also, it looks heavy. What’s the OCCC?

Very nice road van. However, at 25 ft and with power levelers I’m not sure you can even call it a B+ (which was a class the industry created during the van shortage) you would need to class this as a B++ but better yet why not start a new class as a C- to really confuse people.

That’s pretty ballsy to say this more luxury than LTV. It’s quality might hold up for off-road, but I gotta tell you: that outside look is pretty unattractively boxy. The tile in the half bath is quite nice …nicer than I have seen in the LTV, but is that toilet porcelain or is it plastic? The fridge is the exact same one in the LTV so it can’t be nicer… they both use the 6.7 Dometic which opens from both sides. The kitchen stove area is microscopic, thought it is nice that the cooktop is so easily removable. Definitely nice that there’s so much kitchen cabinetry.. the pull out pantries on both sides are quite nice. The bed set up is limiting. And the step down into the cab is ugh!
