There's money to send weapons to Ukraine and put immigrants up in hotels but no money to encourage employers to offer apprenticeships to youngsters. No industry, no public works. No house building. The truth is that the billions generated by this country just goes into the pockets of a few and the rest of the population are treated like useless eaters. But we have to accept responsibility too. This idea that ''kids have got nothing to do'' is just so tired. I used to play football all day when I was a kid...and a ball is cheap.

Nailed it. Send out the message "IF YOU FUCK UP AT SCHOOL. THE GOV'T WILL NOT HELP YOU. IF YOU TAKE DRUGS, THE GOV'T WILL NOT HELP YOU." Too many people find it easier to blame the gov't, blame other people for their own crappy lifestyle choices. There has to be accountability aswell as a robust system which means no welfare/housing for illegals and refugees, if you are a genuine refugee who came legally you are guaranteed a job at Maccies, but you aint get free food/hotel/benefits. If you want a high flying job in the City, you need to change your accent/vocabulary. That's just how it goes.

I thought I had seen some hard-life material growing up in Birmingham but this is highly disturbing in 2024. What I don't understand is the determined efforts and funding put in by councils to accommodate political agendas and in order to recover non-payment of council taxes, yet there are are places left in this dire state-it should be given priority and sorted immediately.

Those pods are a great idea, if they are monitored and have the security, and support. If the homeless want to change and the will to want to change then this is a great plan. The guy towards the end has done well to improve which proves it can be done. More needs to be done to help the homeless instead of housing immigrants. The mess that is left is disgusting which doesnt help their cases for many when you see syringes left in the open. Suppose if all they have to get through the day is drink or drugs it is understandable, NOT excusable though. First point of change is to stop housing immigrants, charity begins at home.

I wanted to raise the issue of littered streets that look like a garbage dump. Yesterday I was sitting in front of McDonald's, an employee came out of the restaurant for a break, sat down and started eating, the wind blew and all the empty packaging fell onto the pavement, do you think she picked up the rubbish and cleaned it up after herself? She just looked, finished eating and went back inside, another case was a mother who came to pick up her children from school, of course she parked on the grass in a prohibited place next to a pedestrian crossing blocking the view of pedestrians, she was doing something for a moment in the car and before driving off she opened the door and poured the whole bag of rubbish out of the car onto the grass, closed the door and drove off, or people who throw rubbish out of the car while driving? I am a cyclist, one day someone driving in the opposite direction threw a glass bottle at me from a car, I was lucky it hit me in the hand and not in the face, for absolutely no reason. In this country it is like this and not different because most people are ill-mannered boors who have no learned good manners and cannot function in society and the government contributed to this by giving pathologies free apartments and benefits so that they could rot in this filth until the end of their days without any purpose in their own lives, never thinking about taking up any work. Even animals take care of the order in their own home. Nothing will change for the better in this country, I will start working a lot more, take overtime and move to Spain, buy a small house to renovate or a camper van and I will no longer have to look at this whole mess on wheels, ask yourself how a normal person is supposed to be happy in a country where when you go to the store you have to see the ruins of closed abandoned stores, houses, old mattresses on the streets, scattered shopping baskets, spit, piss, screams on the streets and you can still get stabbed by a 14-year-old kid for nothing and you can forget about going to the park with a girl in the evening, this country is dangerous to life and mental health.
