Simply to win short term elections and gain political power, they haven't got any foresight of the destruction they bring to the country. Just like during WW-I the Germans sent Lenin to Moscow to start the revolution, so they could win the war against the Czar. They started the Soviet Union. Just like we paid Bin Laden to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan, and created the Taliban. Just like the British fought the French, and then the French supported the US in the Revolutionary war. The law of unintended consequences, the Democrats are destroying the fabric of the United States.

This is what happens when outsiders take a video of Queens and they know nothing. This area is way better than it was before, Sutphin looks crazy like that because those hotels didn't pan out. They're currently in talks to be sold to another developer but it's being blocked by the community board because some people want to keep it as housing for the lower income citizens. Because of the migrant crisis and the hotel not doing well, they have temporarily made it a migrant shelter of sorts but long term it wouldn't last because while the hotel owners are making money from it, they're not making enough to break even on their investment. Go up the block to the E train, its been gentrified over there. Sutphin and Archer was a drug den less than 10 years ago, just as filthy and even more smelly cuz of the fish market. This upscale development, while it pushes out the generations that have lived there has improved the neighborhood, you can walk 6 blocks to a Starbucks ffs. This is absolutely nothing new to NYC or America for the most part. Before the Industrial Revolution, immigrants of all nationalities entered NYC/America and formed what we know as ghettos. Jewish, Russian, Irish, Polish, Italian, etc And now all those same groups are all thriving and living well. The issue is not The Venezuelan people, the problem is this broken system that doesn't have an infrastructure in place to properly facilitate immigrants but will do whatever it takes to benefit the economics for the powers that be, and or their political agenda. Until then the immigrants are here and left to figure things out just like those that had come before them. So blame all those in office no matter the political party because they all have an agenda when it comes to we the people, and 9 times out of 10 we will always get the short end of the stick. The only ones complaining about the immigrants are the poor people and those who have so much time on their hands to walk around Jamaica NY to videotape the misfortune of those who are currently displaced. You won't find not one wealthy person videotaping or watching and complaining, and do you know why? Because they are focused on increasing their wealth and not one immigrant is stopping that. Wake up People and stop falling for the folly! You are fighting the wrong fight! Also to whom it may concern, if you feel the need to debate this comment make real change and run, for President, or shut up and go debate your Mother! Capisce?

I don't see them in my hood. They might be in Bushwick cause that part is predominantly Latino, but they don't come to OCEANHILL, Brownsville, and I don't see them in Bed Stuy, but that's because it's mainly black and there are gangs that been here already who will not have it.

I grew up around this neighborhood. The only difference I see in this video are more scooters parked on the streets. The garbage and graffiti has been there for as long as I can remember. Especially on the side streets.

You are either young or you grew up seeing and believing this is normal. Why don't you visit some smaller vicinities further north? Try to imagine these areas without trash and garbage. Try to imagine these areas with no graffiti on the walls. Try to imagine these streets with no abandoned and broken-down vehicles. Try to imagine these areas without food carts or stands. If you wanted food or merchandise, you had to enter stores. If your vehicle (bicycles included) wasn't functioning, you had to remove it.

I remember when I lived north of downtown when many people commented that the city was considered to be characterized as a 'jungle'. What say ye? I was lucky to have grown up outside of this but, when visiting or working, I never saw NY half this wild.
