I don't think Solar took even a single offensive action, he never left creep. The corrupters were barely used; there were several opportunities when he could have erased important Protoss buildings uncontested. The only real vision of the map that Showtime had was his game sense and Solar's withdrawals (aside from the occasion where he found the spire). Taking more of the map is great, but any match where one side takes more than the other strongly favours the aggressor. This isn't an epiphany; and Solar for the most part just let him have them. Showtime didn't do anything special with upgrades, there was no decisive use of units or composition. There was no particular strategy or tactic... Showtime just took more stuff and committed to more fights. In all, the way that Protoss MUST be played, is for their opponent to be completely passive, maybe having lunch or watching TV while playing. Solar did strike back at 29:50... and then just stopped and went home. There's a templar alone in the middle of the field. Showtime's army is all on the left and in vision. He could have easily have swung over to the right where there's nothing but a few Photon Canons. He also at this time has a massive bank and only a few upgrades... so again, the key to Protoss victory is their opponents just completely dropping the ball.

It's very sad that Zerg are so reactive now. It's never about Zerg harrass; it's always about minimizing the damage to midgame and then MAYBE they can do harrass unless the enemy completely blows it. No wonder this month they're at 45% winrate against T and P for the month, they're glorified punching bags.

3rd game Solar has consistently 16 corruptor while there is at most 6 tempest and mama at a time... seems rather inefficient to me to have so much Anti air stuck there. No green puke either. I wonder why he didnt switch to a few brood lord since most of the army was ground? What's your thought?

knowing when to go fkn kill them is a skill that takes years hahaha. I love the feeling when you know it's just time to attack. Such a fun game. Man more pro zergs need to use nydus to get around when showtime did what he did in the last game. It was very hard to watch. It's like he never committed enough to actually win a fight so he kept just juggling around to losing fights. It's like at that point just nydus the main or push hard into the main then nydus out and kill production. I really with more pros would use nydus more in these situations... Very very painful to watch the last game.

Depends on the tournament rules as well as what races are being played. Since this is zvp, there is no reasonable way to mistake who owns which units so he just uses the colors the players chose.

SPOILERS & COMMENTARY I mean no disrespect, but I don't even remember the last time Solar won a series. His play style is set in stone making him predictable to a fault. Solar there was a time when you were top tier but that time has long since past... when you lose 3-0 to Showtime, its time to retire. Solar needs to move on to Homeworld 3 or Stormgate. Cause he does not cut it in SC2 anymore.

SC2 pros are constantly stuck in play that is TOO CONSERVATIVE. It's like they can't even visually assess the opponents army
@abdallahhakeem5185

That’s what makes Serral/Clem/Maxpax play so satisfying. They are really accurate in their decision-making and the biggest challenge is leveraging their micro against worthy opponents to get more incremental advantages. As soon as they get an advantage it’s GG I can’t believe I’m saying this, but most Korean pro play on the other hand…
@aaronkerrigan241

You have full map vision and know exactly how many bases, miners, army, etc. each player has... and you don't see how this gives you an unrealistic experience compared to the players? The players who are microing and macroing at speeds you've literally never achieved for ten seconds, let alone an entire series... and you still think it should be easy for them to assess the entire state of the game at all times? Phew. That's a great example of 1000 MMR players criticizing 6000 MMR players. 🤣 Btw there's a good reason in Zerg games why there's a conservative playstyle: Zerg prefer to fight on creep, and vice versa for non-Zerg. So they tend to have a tug-of-war style at the edge of creep that can make it seem conservative. Same thing at high ground versus low ground; or brushes versus clearings; or choke points versus open areas; or at the edge of static defense; or in flankable positions versus closed-entry positions... you get the idea. There's a lot of nuance to battles and I would hazard a guess that what you consider "too conservative" is just them playing a lot better than you would in their position. 😊

@@aaronkerrigan241 Pish posh, everyone knows that they’re utter garbage compared to the lowest of pros. Everyone knows that pros are all actually playing really well. But at the end of the day, a competitive setting makes it all relative, judgement is based on the players and the competition between them It’s the same argument against criticism all the time but it’s never truly valid. “You’re not a pro so you can’t comment” It is very clear for a spectator, especially one that has been playing and/or watching a sport for long enough, to determine what, generally, goes wrong in a game of that sport. This is because all the spectator has to do is see the mistakes that get exploited to lead the other side to victory, and that is almost always clear as day The criticism is not to suggest that someone is grossly incompetent, but that they have clear weaknesses that are being exploited by their opponents. That is not failure, that is life. Someone pointing that out does not change anything
