The sequel to this TiHYDP has come out folks, here is the link for the video and trust me, he played worse in Splatoon 3 than he did in the first Splatoon and kept with the BS excuses to dump on S3 like how he dumped on this game. kzitem.info/news/bejne/o3mPs6GCh2qErZw

Yep, that statement didn't age well considering that Splatoon's popularity had started decently and gotten more as soon as Splatoon 2 was out and now look where the series stands amongst the other popular Nintendo series, if only Phil didn't still think the series would still be the same as the first game despite the massive changes the sequels got in order to keep the series fresh while retaining the core mechanics.

I'd been heavily resistant to watching any TIHYDP on any of the Splatoon games, because I didn't want to watch inkling abuse in heavy dosage. But there was legitimately nothing else on KZitem that had me interested in watching, so here I am. Firstly, I don't think Dave ever realized that roller-type weapons can be flicked for a ranged attack literally at any point, then complained that he'd get picked off by them from afar. He literally just nonstop tried to ram into everything which made him easy pickings on a consistent basis. I never even used roller-type weapons (And I detested the Carbon Roller and its variants because of how instant its flick attack is, yet can almost always instantly splat someone). But even I knew that that was a thing they could do. I mained the Custom Blaster myself (I did try the Splatterscope too, but I could never get a solid grasp of aiming with it using motion controls, so I stuck to something I could support more effectively with) and to see him mishandling blaster-type weapons was painful to witness how he thought point-blanking an enemy should instantly splat them. No, you need a little bit of range for the blaster's explosive (Inksplosive?) radius to do the bulk of the damage. Like...just fuck around on Sheldon's weapon range to figure this stuff out. Moving onto Octo Valley mode...boy, oh boy...I'll admit I was very clunky in my combat style when I played it, but that was because I literally went straight to the singleplayer mode as soon as I started playing the game, instead of getting to grips with multiplayer. I did not have anywhere near the difficulty that Dave did, despite being way more of a rookie to Splatoon that he had been at the time. I will admit that I got bulldozed in seconds by the very first octoling, but I studied her combat behaviour, turned the tables, and cleared the rest of the stage with no further issue. Same with the first kelp octoling, except we traded on the first clash, instead of there being a single victor. But again, I fought back, and got through the rest of it. And I only wiped once on literally the final boss because I had no clue how to inflict damage for ages, and ended up sabotaging myself more by falling off the map instead of getting splatted. So after the one wipe I incurred, I went back in with the knowledge I had, cleaned it up flawlessly. One-shot. Dave however somehow wiped while the game is literally backing him with all its might via Calamari Inkantation! Like, I didn't even think anyone could fail at that point because they'd be snowballing to victory. I did go back and get the hero charger and roller from the challenges afterwards too. Was hard as balls, especially that octosniper-heavy one that you had to do with a roller. The attack distance between octosniper and roller is night and day. But I did it without any further wipes. Meanwhile Dave here I thought was gonna get wiped by an octotrooper at one point, literally the most basic enemy type. And he'd been playing Splatoon for two entire streams beforehand, while I had literally zero experience when I went in. I didn't think he'd be THAT horrendous at it, but somehow, I was proven wrong. Side note on the editing: I love the fact that you put random tunes for the Killer Wail attacks. A surprise to be sure, and a welcome one too! Definitely my highlight of the video.

Yeah, this TiHYDP was how bad Phil has been in any online competitive shooter, but here Phil just doesn’t learn how to use effective choke points or even the best weapon package to get the upper hand on his opponents and still makes assertions that one gun is OP’d when eventually the game gets balanced over time. Roller weapons are used for flicking ink and covering a trial of ground for your teammates to follow so they can engage the enemy, but Phil doesn’t utilise that properly. Phil also has some pretty nasty habits, but having that lifelong grudge against Nintendo is possibly his most unhealthy one mentally, because we all know no matter how Nintendo goes through the face of adversity, they still continue to deliver great games that Phil never has fun with (unless it’s Mario or even Pokemon). And I agree with the end, the Killer Wail songs were fitting to use since that special sounds like a Bluetooth speaker for a MP4 player or mobile device.

@@mitchdesertsquiddogaming I did admittedly have a lot of trouble with Aerospray enemies, but I chalked that up to them outranging my Custom Blaster more than anything, as whenever I was able to close the distance, I shredded them more often than not. I suppose the good news for Dave is that he never engaged in Splatfests. I typically only played during Splatfests, but Christ alive...I think I set the record for the longest Splatfest losing streak in squidmanity. I backed the losing team in Callie vs Marie in Splatoon 1 and didn't manage to back a winning team until Gear vs Grub vs Fun in Splatoon 3. I am not exaggerating, I literally had a 29 lose streak on canonical Splatfests and didn't back a single winning team in Splatoon 2. Truly, I felt cursed back then.

Yep, Phil's gameplay surely was incredibly painful to go through, especially since he didn't even bother to use any better ranged weapons or even back off when he is on verge of being splatted or even use choke points properly.

He takes anything literately seriously in multiplayer games, level doesn’t mean anything, it’s the player skill level that’s the most important thing and Phil blames higher levelled players because he cannot accept the fact he has a severe skill issue.

Level only unlocks different weaponry for you to use. Having the weapon that unlocks at the maximum most level doesn't mean dick dastardly if you can't operate it properly and get washed by rookies using the basic starter weapon.

Well, I wanted to make the tallies more streamlined than cluttered, plus people will complain if I make too many separate tallies as it would make the TiHYDP more cluttered and disorganised.
