I joyfully share this poem to shine the beauty of the good news of Jesus Christ. I am a sinner saved by grace, and I testify to the truth that God tenderly welcomes sinners who run to him for refuge in Jesus.
My life and faith has been a journey, and in this poem I pause to confess my sin and point to the matchless mercy of God. He sends storms into all of our lives. In my own life, the storm I speak of in this poem was one of the greatest acts of mercy God could have ever done for me. Many years have passed since that storm, and I will always testify that God's merciful hand was in it for my good and his glory.
However the Greatest Storm was the one that Christ faced for me at the cross where he took all of my sin and bore all of His Father's righteous wrath that should have been mine to bear. In that storm, I was hidden in Christ, and in the storm I faced in my life, I see that God sent it to me so I would run back to Christ where my hope is found.
I praise God for his mercy, and call out to all: "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!" (Psalm 34:3).
