We hear this every 4yrs. At the end of the day, you can't just throw talented players together and expect them to play at even 90% efficiency when looking at a global level. Following that, if "Team" USA wants any sorta consistency, then they should follow through into FIBA. As it stands, this isn't a TEAM, it's a fkn pickup game on a global market.

I'm going: 1. Haliburton 2. Edwards 3. Tatum (only because they didn't think to bring in another forward after Kawhi's departure) 4. Adebayo 5. Davis (only cause the chemistry shared with Adebayo) I know KD, Lebron, and Curry can all still ball, don't get me wrong. I just think having the option to and letting the young side of the super stars start while letting the aged super stars act as more of a relief and clutch/ender type situation would be the better approach. A few things I note: A big reason for the "aged super stars" coming off the bench, aside from being proven to be clutch, is that they are returning for the next NBA season, potentially some of their last seasons. Why risk the extra minutes and mileage on themselves when there are great stars that could start it out and run a good part of the grind, and they could just come out when needed? Also, I think bringing in White to replace Kawhi is an awkward mistake, to be honest. Nothing against White, he's a great player, but USA already had plenty of great guards. They needed another strong big in my opinion 🤷

The 2024 dream team is a damm good team no doubt. But they seriously need to up their game, as the 92 dream team would run circles around them. The 92 dream team was younger (Jordan and others were in their prime and alot of them were only in their late 20's). The 2024 team is being carried by a 40 year old man, nuff said 😂.

also to be said that in 1992 was the first time in the olympics that USA was allowed to have NBA players on the squad, yet before 1992 were dominant aswell with university players. It feels like the american media overstimates the team just based on names and forget that europeans play FIBA rules constantly so its easier for them to adjust to the regulations. To add people tend to forget that the rest of the world teams are used to play with each other in the same team and are willing to play for the coach system without egos

Quick correction on Joel: he doesn't have "ties" to France & Cameroon. He was literally born and raised in Cameroon & lived there until moving to the US (so more than "ties"). He's never lived in France or anything, they just gave him citizenship (from what it seems like) basically because he's famous (from Wikipedia, "Embiid was granted citizenship by France as 'a foreigner [...] whose naturalization is of exceptional interest'"). And he got his French citizenship like 2 months before he got it from US (the place he's lived for the last 10+ years).

I hate how much emphasis everyone is putting on these EXHIBITION games. If anything, USA is going at about 80%, not fully trying. These other teams are putting in 110% effort to hopefully take down USA basketball... and USA is still coming out on top. Steve Kerr couldn't decide a lineup. KD had been injured for every exhibition game. I could go on. Lets take a deep breath here. This isn't as bad as people are making it out to be

The best thing to fix team USA’s mentality would be to change the format of the ALL Star game to USA vs World. The international team would be formidable and a yearly reminder of what team USA is up against. It would become a matter of pride for both sides and they’d stop treating it as an exhibition.

Another comparison to make, is that the talent level in 1992 isn’t the same as it is now worldwide. You have players from other countries who weren’t equally developed in ‘92 to those players today. The comparisons do need to stop, because the comparisons are not equivalent.
