Even when they are performing the taps are so loud and satisfying. It's earthly. Like it's a nice reminder that they aren't made of feathers. They have heavy muscles and organs they are toting around and pushing around. The grace is deceptive and makes them seem unearthly, but that clomp is a reminder of the weight behind it all

When you're taking classes you're taught to land as softly as you can, because you're supposed to look light as a feather. But yes, if you're close up you're going to hear the clomps lmao. And your teacher will absolutely call you out for being loud on your feet in class!

I love love love how you kept her safe from herself. She absolutely would have tried that pose for you, but it wasn't in her best interest. As an athlete and artist it can be hard to honor our limitations.

Eva is a real master of her job. A true professional photographer who knows what is safe and what is not and cares about the dancers she works with (they are all amazing!)

No, she is not. She pushes way too far and the dancers are not always in alignment or fall out of the pose in unhealthy ways. That girl is not on her foot in the thumbnail photo and could have easily cracked her ankle.

It's very professional of you to check whether she's at risk of injuring herself, particularly if you know she has a vulnerable area where she's had an injury, it's especially important with hyperextended people 👍

What I love about Eva is her ability to care so much. The first thing she does is check on the dancer then she tells her directions what a beautiful spirit she has as a photographer.

I’m pretty flexible, and it’s 100% because I did ballet when I was younger, and then moved on to cheerleading. But this is so incredibly impressive. I truly think every person who wants to do any sport should do ballet at least for a year.

Friendly reminder for Eva, though I doubt you will see this I just wsnt you to know that although I see all the amazing dancers you photoshoot you are the ballerina I aspire to be. You are so hardworking and although you started late you are still willing to try and hope to be half the person you are, especially as a dancer.

Ommg!!! I think the SAME thing about her but with photography… I was younger and I had Indian helicopter parents .. so I never got to do the things I sooo desperately LOVED and was actually good at.. but was shoved into schools I hated, chastised for flunking.. and now shunned from my family…. BUT I still have my camera ❤and watching her photograph and become immersed in a world she has so much passion for, is making this 38yr old cry, and light a spark back that I lost long loooong ago.

Love Eva's awareness of the dancers' condition!!! You can tell how much she cares - in part because she is pursing experience in dance herself and has an understanding of how certain pains can affect certain poses and vice versus.

Now this is what a real ballet dancer is like. They can sustain a position and follow through for the duration of a full ballet, which is usually an hour or more long. I have seen some other " ballet dancers" on here who can hold just long enough for the great photo shot.
