Thanks man that question to JDCR solves lots of my issues with sidestepping. I just had to research more of this when I randomly watched rooflemongers Tekken 8 beginner video where he said that sidestep blocking actually needs to be a sidewalk. Always wondered why the hell I only just microside step each time when the pros can cleanly step the same moves. Thought that there's no way that these guys commit to every sidestep/sidewalk they do. If they did, then they would get clipped more than half the time considering the level of play. Now that the answer is from JDCR, I can finally put the question to rest EDIT: I went back and watched JDCR's replays in Tekken 8. He does do a sidewalk over sidestep in most situations

Thank you for this video dude. I’ve been looking for a good video to explain sidestepping as it is a very powerful tool, equal to a parry in sf3 3rd strike I would argue, under the right circumstances.

i think you dont need to memorize those frames, you can almost tell wether your at a disadvantagous state with being familiar with the animation unless if its a different case like king's fff3 showed on this video both are at neutral even if the blocking animation is super staggered at some angles familiarizing isnt the answer so i guess idk

Ahhh, so basically learn like a thousand different moves in the exact frame rate for each one and anticipate the enemies move at the same time with the frame rate?

I saw this content in a Korean channel, it doesnt seem like you are connected to it(since you didnt provide a link to the original) Am I wrong? kzitem.info/news/bejne/om6Ksa2pe6uedII Edit: I saw the video until the end and it seems that I was wrong, at least this comment will clear any confusion from those that saw the same video but didnt finish the video

Good video but this is not even close to "complete" step guide. Nothing about step blocking, nothing about difference timings at step blocking. Nothing about choosing when to step block and commit to wiff and when to step and punish instantly if you have a hard read to punish fast recovery moves like jab. And so on

This took you 3 weeks to make? 3 weeks? I've seen videos that were improvised in 5 min, and explained it sooner and better than you.
