I think I have tried most of the slip-on exhausts that are available for the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, except a very few that are available in India.
From AEW, Red Rooster, Gursewak, Swagman to even S&S - I have heard and ridden most slip-on exhausts in the market over the last year or so. (On my personal Interceptor 650 I run a 2x1 full system SS Moto exhaust, but that is a different story altogether).
What I am about to make is probably a very big statement - I think I have finally chanced upon a slip on exhaust for the Royal Enfield twins that sounds the smoothest, bassiest and just the nicest, irrespective of price.
Lextek is a highly reputed UK brand that has finally entered India with their stainless steel exhausts for the 650 twins.
The exhausts come with lifetime warranty and are just a sight to behold. The craftsmanship on them is breathtaking - from the finish to the welding, it looks premium.
But it better do: After all, it costs Rs 37,000.
Now, I understand that this is a lot of money, especially when the competition sells for under Rs 20,000. But mind you, this exhaust is not built here and gets imported to India, attracting customs duty.
So, there is a reason behind the cost.
I will soon do a detailed video on the exhaust where I'll record a fly-by and a first person riding account.
The best thing I find about this exhaust is the smoothness it offers when you decelerate. There are zero deceleration pops. That's the mark of a dyno-tested and developed product.
The exhaust is only available at Speedmonks Performance Centre, who are the only authorised distributors of Lextek in India, as far as I know.
