...And now, the end is near
and so I face the final mountains
My friends, I'll make it clear
I've travelled each and every step
on this path which is unrivalled
And more, much more than this
I did it, I did it my way...
The Cambrian Way is a high level walk with some scrambling that passes through the highest and wildest parts of Wales. Starting in Cardiff and terminating 298 miles later in Conwy it is considered (arguably) to be the UK's toughest trail with 46 peaks to climb including 7 of Wales 16 3000ft mountains with a total accent of 74000ft...
The Cambrian Way should not be the first outing attempted by a novice long distance walker. It is nearly 300 miles long and much of the route is in open access country, requiring good navigational skills and the ability to scramble up mountains carrying a large rucksack. Some sections are long and remote, and if not backpacking there are big distances to travel for accommodation.
The non-mountain parts of the trail have been "waymarked" but you should look upon these as reassurance you are in the general vicinity of the trail. They are not the waymarks that you will find on an official national trail, and I can not stress enough how important it is to have good navigation skills before embarking on this trail. On the mountains and the moors you are on your own, and in many places there is no path on the ground. Good luck!
I hope my videos give you a true example of the trail - thank you for watching.
