Brigham Young entered the Salt Lake Valley with his Mormon pioneers on July 24, 1847 and one hundred years later, a monument was erected at the mouth of Emigration Canyon commemorating this event. LDS Church President George Albert Smith dedicated the monumant and today it is a state park. This film clip records that event in 1947. The music is the Sun Valley Jump played by the Glenn Miller band.
