OK Josh.... I like it... A great couples trailer here... 55 gallons of fresh water along with the solar prep and a 2 way fridge makes this one actually boondock capable (at least for a few days)... A walk around full on queen bed, with a king option is a huge plus! The storage in this thing is impressive, with the only issue I see being where would a kitchen trash can go? The single sewer outlet, the single slide, where you only loose the fridge for travel stop, but you could still have a sleep and potty stop when needed, and maybe deploy the slide briefly to get what you need out and then close it back up. A good sized bathroom, and a great looking rectangular shower... I have to say Josh, this one really checks a whole ton of boxes for me!!! I'm impressed!!! (Even if I didn't see the roof!?!) 🤣

I really like this trailer. The floor plan is great. I like the rear kitchen. There's so much storage! Also + carpetless and slide floor matching. ++ For the outside kitchen with included grill & table. The shower is nice size (& rectangle+). They could skip the over toilet cabinet. I'd hate to see you hit your head on it. As far as front window or not, I say generally not, close it up. A front window is only ok with a front kitchen.

I really like this unit. If we decide to go smaller/lighter than a fifth wheel, it'll make what would be a VERY short list. And I'm going to point this out.. AGAIN.. the 12V fridge is absolutely boondocking capable, even without solar/lithium, or a generator!! It's not indefinite, obviously, but even on a single AGM100, we routinely got 48hrs of using the fridge, 40 hrs if we ran our 12V fans and installed LED lights. Sure, it's not days like your old school absorption fridge eating up your propane, or God forbid it catches on fire as your hauling it down the freeway, but it's faster, safer, and over time, much more cost effective. We did 2 seasons on ours, and it's currently with it's new owners that upgraded to a single 190W panel and 100AH lithium, and they routinely spend a week off grid with zero issues. I think it's time for a cost comparison on propane use/cost vs. solar/lithium for running those fridges. It obviously has to make a difference, since the off-grid and nomad communities are strictly using 12V fridge, portable panels, and lithium battery packs. And staying off grid for WEEKS at a time.
@JoshtheRVNerd

Thank you so much for sharing all of this. I sometimes give up on mentioning boondocking with a 12v fridge as I always get a lot of pushback but I do agree they’re a solid option for limited time away from hookups It all depends on where you’re coming and what you’re doing. Plugging the vehicle in for some quick emergency power also works better than people realize

They nailed it! I'm happy with everything I see. the only things I'd change is the table in the dinette to a free standing table and the color palette! I prefer the medium brown on brown on brown. Because who wants to be cleaning when your camping? Mom gets stuck back at camp cleaning while Dad and the kids go do something fun? Not in my Vaca! The darker looks hide kid fingerprints, scuff marks from shoes and boots along the walls, and a whole host of other things. Where as the lighter farmhouse or cream decors show every little thing. I'm very happy with this model.

This is just my two cents as a former whitehawk owner. We had nothing but problems with the wide stance axles. I feel like this design should just be removed from the RV industry. The tires being so far apart puts way too much stress on the leaf spring hangers when turning or backing into a site and I had both of mine snap off the frame. My dealer told me this is an ongoing issue with the whitehawks. They briefly changed how they hung the leaf springs with a reinforced bracket by bolting it to the frame instead of welding it. not sure if this is still how they are doing it. The Whitehawk was a great trailer and we really enjoyed it but this suspension is just not safe. I also had leaf springs snap on me. They are longer than typical leaf springs because the tires are so far apart. Twice we were stuck on the interstate and having to call a mobile welder. Buyer beware with this type of setup.

This, yes this even with the chocolate accents, is now my favorite pull-behind. White Hawk is putting out some nice stuff. The 2nd AC should be part of the overall package. I do however think there is a minus - that televator area would allow stuff to fall down in there and eventually build up without a way to physically clean it out. I could be wrong, maybe not. Best option here? No plaid. LoL I think Jayco is doing some great things in their decor and design.

We have the 2021 26RK. I do like the additional windows, lighting, and the bathroom in the 27RK, there are some deficiencies that have me strongly preferring the 26RK. 1) The televator brings the additional window; however, it is also one more thing to break being bounced around in a TT. When retracted, it seems to be a good place for dirt, crumbs, and any liquid spills to go. I've just read on one post with a 27RK owner that the televator didn't seem to be aligned correctly and rubbed during opening/closing. Might be a ongoing issue with this design as more hit the market and start camping with it. 2) In a rear kitchen there is the potential for a lot of weight on the tt to be located behind the rear axle. In this case, it is even worse since they moved the outdoor kitchen to the back of the rig. This unit will require very careful loading or it could easily become a sway nightmare. On the 27RK, I'd probably recommend upgrading the suspension on day 1 of ownership. 3) The new design loses the second door which, imho, is a huge negative. The 27RK really seems to be more of a seasonal site type of rig rather than one you would want to drag all over the place. At least with the 26RK the outdoor kitchen was over the axles and the entertainment center helped balance the weight of the RK design.

I am current white hawk owner, a 27rb, this is a slight upgrade, the pop up tv is good electric is not as good, the rear bumper is not even good for stinky slinky storage, fittings do not fit, and is so cheap you can’t hang the bike rack. The front window, well be just a hole. It overheats in the summer, and when it is cold outside it’s a freezer, can’t get warm, it need to double glass or get rid of it, it is my least favorite thing. I would buy this unit if not for the window in the front. Thanks for doing this.

Uncle Josh, So nice to see you returning to Jayco and Keystone reviews. These two manufacturers are your wheelhouse from which you hit home runs. I never knew a Whitehawk could be so nice; it even has Jaycommand! Only two shortcomings that I could see: the oven and microwave are way too small. But, I found the fireplace to be first cabin. This looks like it might be half ton towable. F-150 Ecoboost potential? Just about perfect for me, the wife and our two pups. Thanks.

This is really pushing a lot of half ton towing I think. White hawks have become heavier over the years Some folks report doing just fine with something like this on a half ton. Some report having to upgrade vehicles Completely depends on the capacities of the specific truck in question as well as the terrain thru which you expect to tow the rv Mountains? Cross winds? Going to all be factors

It seems that front windshields are more likely to leak if you tow in the rain too, which is why most truck campers and class C rigs haven't come with a front cabover windshields for a while. As I said a while ago, most of the time at rv parks you would be just getting a view of a neighbouring site and the access road too.

Love this floor plan. I do love my front window in the bedroom as it provides just that open feeling in the rv. The only one thing I would change is the TV location. very good... was going to say fridge access was a problem, but, since slide is rack and pinion, can open it well enough to load it up, good enough.... tv on strut is cool and a bit of a money saver, but as anyone who ever had a hatchback knows, they will give out over time, end up holding it up with a 2x4 just the same 20 years from now lol, although i do suppose you could spend 20 bucks and buy a new one at that point, not hard to install yourself, just a few screws.... would rather tv in bedroom be across from bed as always, but nothing can do about that i know, so swing arm will solve that... am 50/50 on bedroom window myself, i like the positives of having one and not having one both.. do not like the negatives of either of them. so.... to solve that, you had the right idea... what if they were to make a thicker pulldown shade that had a thin strip of insulation between, with thermal reflective exterior side.... much like some of those cold weather window frame inserts you can get for car camping... not alot... but helps alot. now you have the daytime and night time views available when want to see out.. such as that thunder and lightning storm while laying there.. and can pull it down and keep things a bit cooler when sunny and warm, not to mention... when closed it would be so blacked out you would not even know a light was on inside if you were outside. that might be a little pricey to make such a shade..... but you only need one for that front window, not the rest (though would be cool, probably not worth it at this price level)... rest of it i see nothing to change... great job on this one all around. also i am getting to be a fan of those side mounted hitch receivers... i could see where they may even want to start putting 2 on the side somewhere.. since there are SO many things designed to go in that hole already.... there are so many possibilities, as an example... when you get to camp.... put out awning and set up etc. you pull your bicycles out of the trailer (since no rear hitch to mount a bike rack to that i saw) ....... do what you do riding around.. time for bed.... stick the bike rack in the side hitch mount....put the bikes on the rack locked up as normal..... now they locked up on the rack off the ground under the awning right next to the door... cant be anymore secure than that.... other sorts of racks and such that fit.... even those mobility scooters can be put up and safe the same way. ... and for those off road trailers, they would make even MORE sense... if you had those on all 3 sides, frame mounted, you could literally pull your trailer side ways with a buddy vehicle or winch if you had to get unstuck somewhere, not that you could do that with this one no.... lol bad idea.... but those hitch mounts along the sides makes more and more sense as i think of it, more and more things you could do with it.... you could put a recliner out there hanging off the side with a 50 cal. turret with grandpa in the chair circling your enemy wagon train style while he goes to town on them AC-130 ghostrider style. just be careful of light poles and signs as you going down the highway in the right lane. (if you dont know what an AC-130 is, look up on youtube, for the full visual of what i mean, is worth the few minutes to watch)

I'm impressed! Jayco packed a lot into this one; and they were able to keep it light enough to be realistically ½ ton towable. With a weight distribution kit, an anti-sway kit and the air suspension on my truck, it still leaves a couple of hundred pounds room (unless my wife wants to eat a 200 lb burger 🍔 while we drive. 🤣 I'm not big on the interior decor, but it's not bad. I'll have to show this one to -the boss... err... I mean...- my wife. 😁 Does it come with a King bed option? Btw, the gas strut is the better choice for the televator. Very much liking this! Would it be possible for the manufacturers to engineer a sort of "pop open for ventilation" for the front window? Like have it open an inch or so? Or is that just a complete leak-waiting-to-happen nightmare situation? I'm afraid I might be so, but curious. I like the gas strut. One less electrical thing to break and if the strut ceases to lift, it should be a fairly easy replacement. Whole lotta room for the pupdogs!

The one thing I'd like to see is a bigger oven, I don't plan on using the oven that much, but being able to use it as a real oven when I do would be a plus. This isn't so big that you can't use it as a weekend getaway at most camp grounds, but it is big enough you could hit the road for weeks at a time and have nice place to spend bad weather days in without climbing the walls. Keep the windshield, you can always block out the sun with the shade if you want.

Your awesome Josh, keep up the good work. I definitely want the bumper it stores my stinky slinky. Plus it gives me options to add grill attachments and even a rack for bikes/coolers. I want to know where people are storing of they don't have one? I also had to add a slinky holder because I have 2 hookups points in my Transcend.

Very Nice Camper!! Like the layout, and the features on this model; unfortunately for me, it would be pushing the weight limits on my half ton...question though; does this come with power jacks and auto leveling standard? As for the televator, I think the gas strut would be the better option, IMO. Like the idea of the one-location flush tanks plumbing as well. Josh, you are still the best in the biz on providing insightful information on the RV models and the Industry as a whole! You make the rest of the dealership have an easier time on presenting the models after all of your reviews! Thank you as always for bringing us the "inside scoop" on the latest and greatest in the RV world! ~Lou

I like this camper. I love a front window but lately I've been back in my tent and letting my parents use the camper they hate the front window, they like to set up in bed and read in the morning the arch a front window needs makes that impossible. Like Josh says there is no perfect camper. I do wish I had a camp kitchen, and this one is possible the best I've seen.

Ok so now ya got me wanting one😊. Good thing my 18 white hawk is paid for or I’d give it some serious thought! I towed with a half ton for about the first year then jumped to three quarter HD. While the half ton had the power it just was not enough truck. Pulling a 7k flat bed trailer is not the same as pulling a travel trailer of the same weight.

Floor plan looks nice. A lot of the competition has TV off to the side- I prefer to face the TV if I’m going to watch it. Seems everyone going to the 12 volt fridge but I prefer gas. I’ve heard you can swap to gas but in the back I only see one vent for fridge. Out camper has another vent at the top to facilitate airflow for absorption fridge. I don’t get how that would work without that extra vent up top.
@JoshtheRVNerd
Жыл бұрын
When you get the 2-way fridge the second vent is cut at the factory. 12v models don't need the second vent so they only have one for service access

Okay.....like the gas strut televator. Not sure if this is logical or not (not a handy gal here) but seems as though it would be more reliable and less electrical that can break down. Also....yes...give me a bumper please! Just feels as though there needs to be one to...first of all be an extra rung to get up on the ladder (thanks for the actual ladder by the way) and a buffer when backing up. Plus a place to put the skinky slinky. I like the bathroom in this one. Plenty of room...no radius shower and storage with doors!!! (applause inserted here). I like the thought of a windshield in the bedroom....especially to look out at night. 🌚🌌 Just am not a fan of being hot 🌞and if that causes more heat in summer....um...wouldn't be a fan. I like those little pockets behind the actual nightstands! I like the outside kitchen and the table and cook top that comes with it! Is it me or are manufacturers getting away with putting in outdoor kitchens? By the way, Josh....I was a bit distracted when you were showing the outside of the rv....I saw a big beautiful Talon in the background and was saying to myself....please oh please let there be an upcoming video of that!!!!🤩 Overall...nice rv. KInda low ccc...not a fan of that for sure. Thanks for the video, Josh!

Wow! This is really nice! I'm not usually a big fan of your kitchens because I think the outside camp kitchen will typically take away a good amount of storage. I love the theater seats but it looks like there is only a couple of small usb chargers on the slide side and I don't see other power outlets or USB plugs unless there is something hiding inside the arm rest of the theater seats. I think having access to power from the theater seats is important. I would love to see another power tower to the left of the sink as there is the most counter space over there and it would make sense to me to have one there for plugging in small appliances; otherwise I really, really like the kitchen and living room space. Since i didn't know there were two different televator options, I don't have a preference. Great job on the bathroom. The shower is excellent and it doesn't have a huge step up to get into it and I appreciate the rectangular shape. For being a smallish bathroom the layout is great with room around the commode, good linen cabinets w/doors and other storage and a decent vanity area. I love the residential size queen bed as well as the additional closet storage as that is one thing I think travel trailers have a hard time getting right. I like to hang clothes rather than fold them in drawers. The one big thing I would change in this travel trailer would be getting rid of the front window in the bedroom. I don't like the temperature variation it creates although it does look nice and I appreciate having the view, I would trade the temperature comfort for the view. Otherwise there really isn't much I would change. Jayco did an awesome job on this one! Thanks for showing it to us Josh!

I like the idea of gas strut televator vs. electric but I've never had either one. Seems less likely to break and easier to fix. Front windshields are stupid. I have one in my Minilite 2507s and hate it. I covered it with 1" block foam insulation and reflectix. Keep the bumper. it looks silly without it and bumpers actually do serve a purpose.

I wish they would put bed on flat wall, the rounded wall causes you to loose length on the bed. I’m not tall and my feet hang off the end of bed. I saw one of other white hawks and slider door was in wall, so that wouldn’t be a problem, only problem is storage.
@JoshtheRVNerd

I might not be understanding -- I'm not sure how having the bed against the front wall loses any length. By the time I set a pillow at the top of the bed it's as functional as any other queen bed to me

in my opinion i bet the floor threw out the RV is not composite so if you have water leaking anywhere it cost to much to repair.
