Great reaction, Sarah! "Dancing in the Dark" is on Springsteen's 1984 album Born in the U.S.A., one of his biggest sellers. And the girl Bruce pulls up onto the stage to dance with him is then-unknown Courteney Cox, later famous for the sitcom Friends.

When this song came out did anyone even know who Ms Cox was? Certainly, nobody I knew. We all thought she was just a pretty girl Bruce pulled out of the audience.

I just watched this reaction and I just had to comment and tell you how down I've felt this morning until seeing the joy you had reacting to this song. You put a smile on my face and have given me the energy to get up and enjoy life instead of sitting around the house wasting the day feeling sorry for myself! You are a bundle of joy that radiates happiness to all who watch you! Thank you, you really did just make my day!

It was a bit unreal, Bruce hated doing it but MTV was God, you had to have a video. He particularly disliked doing the lip synching and the dreadful acting.

I've seen hundreds of performers live, Bruce was the best entertainer I've ever experienced, not necessarily my favorite, but the most engaging, it was 1984, the post-punk era.. He connected with his audience as if he wanted nothing but pure joy for everyone, generous with 4hours and 40 mins, every single person dancing, lights on, even those that don't normally dance. Bruce is the real deal

Bruce is one of the greatest live performers in the history of music. And what you're watching there is really the worst version of him. That's his 'gone Hollywood' phase. Soon after that, he abandoned all that crap and went back to his roots and his authentic self. Watch some live shows from the 70s, or after the comeback in the 90s/00s. Totally different thing, and quite amazing.

If you have to change with the times is it really selling out or is it good business. Its easy to say he sold out but do you really know what you would do if it was you.Bob Dylan sold out with one of the greatest songs in history called like a rolling stone ,if he would have done that with an acoustic guitar and harmony would we be saying that about it
