Smart women were always my type. Too bad the smartest got clingy on the 2nd date and started talking about marriage and moving me and her out of state. Scared me out of wanting to get to know her, I really wanted to fall in love with her. She was very smart (she'd written a book) and a pharmacist, but desperation marriages don't work. Trust me.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 *"Hannah Zeile - Where I Belong": the song Kate wrote. I get that Kate's character as a adult is very annoying but there are dark reasons to it. She didn't use to be like that before Katie Girl's Daddy passed ie the Swimming Pool episodes. Remember the song she wrote, sang and that Jack taped for her college admission? It is heartbreaking when you listen to it and her newly found confidence, knowing that what will happen right after will take all that away. "Hannah Zeile - Where I Belong"* There are people who know what they wanna be Been feeling like everyone knows but me Been keeping my head down For too long now There are people so fearless in this world They make me feel like a scared little girl But things are gonna turn around I'm looking up now I'm gonna get out of my head And out in the world Gonna say my goodbye to this Scared little girl I know if I just stay strong I'm gonna find out where I belong There are days that I just wanna stay inside Shut the door and Turn out all the lights But keeping my eyes closed Not how its gonna go this time Gonna get out of my head And out in the world Gonna say my goodbye to this Scared little girl I know if I just stay strong Yeah I know if I just hang on I won't look back I won't look back I won't look back Gonna break away Break away from the past I won't look back I won't look back I won't look back Gonna beak away Break away from the past Gonna get out of my head And in to my heart Gonna find all the strength I had from the start I know if I just stay strong Yeah I know if I just hang on I'm gonna find where I belong Find where I belong Where I belong Where I belong Where I belong Where I belong I'm gonna find where I belong

This relationship is creepy she just graduated high school and this guy looks like he might be in his late 20s. I know they are both adults and it may barely be a double digit age difference but lol she and young Randle are both mad naive just like Rebecca. Kevin is the only one with street smarts even though he ends up being the actor with the privileged lifestyle in adulthood. The show has clearly made hints that unlike Randle who went to college and Kate who lived with their mother he jumped into marriage at a very young age and faced some real struggles before he made it as an actor. Like man couldn't even afford a wedding ring and got married at City hall he was also asking his widowed mother for money after she lost her husband and her house.

I love my dad, but he's unfortunately like this with me. He'll go a while not caring about my diet, and then suddenly he comes charging back and makes me feel really bad about myself - he's done this since I was about eight or nine, and now I'm in my mid-twenties. He's the same way with me correcting him in public, even if I'm just attempting to be helpful, he takes it personally like I'm saying he's an idiot. Some men...

Originella I don’t know you dear, but it sounds like an unhealthy father daughter relationship. I had a similar one...he was more that way with my mom, then me, but sometimes it was directed at me as well. If you are old enough I suggest living on your own (with friends or if in school, at the dorms) and remove yourself from that toxic behavior. You can start to heal and rebuild your self-esteem and self worth that way. I’m not saying to stop loving your dad or that he’s a terrible person, but he definitely has some issues that he needs to take care of. But just because he’s your father and flawed (as we all are), doesn’t mean you should suffer for it. Ive been there, it gets better. Good luck!

Originella You are a beautiful young lady. Please don’t ever let his comments make you doubt that. My dad did the same thing to me and I know how awful it feels. He was abusive to my mom and controlling with me. The weight thing always got me. Even in my late 30’s the first thing he’d ask me on the phone was, “have you lost any weight yet?” It was like a knife being plunged into my heart. Keep your head up high and be proud to be you.

My Dad often criticized me as well for... being slim/not curvy enough... I am sorry, I know that probably I don't belong in this thread and please don't think that I understimate your problems (or "fat shaming" in general)... Also, judging by your comments, your relationships with Dad are messier and tougher... I guess I wanted to share and relate (even if the issue is slightly different). I just feel like he never fully accepts me. He actually taught me to value myself, to be outspoken, not be manipulated etcetera. He also could give me a compliment. And then out of the blue he could say something like "you should eat more" (knowing damn well I eat well) or " you should gain some weight" (knowing that I can't gain weight easily due to my body type). After all, he was married with my Mom who is also slim... And those remarks are so sudden and then he quickly changes subject so that I don't have time to reply... That shit stays with you. I know that my body type will not be liked by everybody, that's ok. I also do fitness to grow and sculpt muscles (in healthy way, to be more womanly). I don't seek approval from everybody... I even like my body most of the time... But sometimes there is a deep thought like "What if I am too skiny/not curvy/not womanly" enough (even if it's not true and my body is healthy proportional, just petite )... Pairing it with the fact that my classmates didn't make it easier with their taunting and bodyshaming (mostly girls actually) back then-so the the fact that he didn't do shit to help me through this and even solidified my insecurities still bugs me sometimes. Though I am also in my mid 20-s now. I hope it's okay that I shared here and you didn't take it the wrong way. I relate to your issues and sympathize on a deeper level. We may be of different body type/age/mentality but we all bleed the same and have insecurities about ourselves. I wish you and myself to forgive our fathers (for our own sakes) and accept ourselves despite what anyone says. Each of us is beautiful in her own unique way. Thank you for reading. Be well!💗

As a dad, I would say put what you just said in writing and give it to your dad to read in private. Let it sink in how his behavior is affecting you. My daughter is 15 and she tells me when I have embarrassed her in public still calling her ' baby' so she's too old for that she says so I don't call her that anymore. Communication is the best way to resolve this, I think.

@iamsultana

I think this is going to be the story of how her struggle with weight really spiralled down. All people with extreme weight have psichological issues they haven't properly dealt with, which fuels the compulsive eating. They don't eat because they need all those calories to survive, they eat because they need to bury pain. If Kate suffered extreme abuse from this Mark boy, then it could have affected her weight later on.

She's a character that has been hurt very deeply in life, so she puts up walls, lashes out & eats to numb her pain. Many of us have been there at different times in our lives. Everyone's struggles are different and some people carry deep pains and soul wounds that really affect our personalities. It takes a patient and real person to know how to heal those wounds and bring out the very best in us.
