I'm an extroverted introvert, and that's how I explain myself to my friends, who don't understand why I don't want to hang out too often but am still very sociable around them when we do meet up. True story: I’m an extroverted introvert and didn’t even know. I’m at a house party with my friend I now consider sister, and I’m talking a mile a minute, engaging everyone in conversation making everyone feel included, life of the party and then I abruptly stop. I feel empty and I got extremely exhausted and nervous. Well someone asked what was wrong with me and before I could respond my sister friend replied she’s ok, she needs some space and she’ll be back at it and she led me to her bedroom and gave me the remote and she said come join us when you’re ready. Which I did and that’s when I realized 1) great friends will have answers to questions you never knew you had about yourself 2) I have a social battery 😂😂😂

100% Introvert. While I do have disorders, they aren't related to being an introvert. Even when I have the option of only interacting with people I like and enjoy the company of, I still need time to myself. I don't hate people, or get particularly anxious around them. People are just exhausting. Also, the double standard that introverts are considered to have a disorder because they need time alone; while extroverts who can't stand being alone for any length of time (who literally *do meet the definition of disorders* because it means they have no internal sense of identity) is an example of how extroverts "other" introverts to the point of considering them a problem.

Then I've had my social energy fill and need to get home, get into my comfy pjs (even if it's during the day), and just binge-watch something or read. Simon Sinek has a great definition. First person goes out and interacts with lots of people and feels energised - extrovert. Second person goes to the same place and does the same thing but feels drained - introvert. It’s about energy and whether you get or give from other people. People have masks in public and if you use their outward behaviours you will mis-identify people. As a high energy person in public, who really loves being around dogs and books at home (and is energised by it) i love his definition.

What am I!? I’m like an amalgamation of everything. I literally love going out and dressing up and getting ready for events and seeing people. It’s literally so much fun, and it’s not just with a select group of friends. I love meeting strangers, seeing people, new and old. At the same time, I’ll go days without talking to people, and can only seem to talk to people when I’m in person with them. Phone calls, or FaceTime is the worst, and I’m even a dry textter. Usually it’s the dreaded one word responses, or the thumbs up on a text message. I just don’t know what to say, and how to keep a text conversation going like I do when I’m in person with people. I basically have no interaction with people outside of when I see them in person for work, or otherwise, and only text or call to make plans and coordinate events. My hermit alone, time is in my house. My talkative self likes to schmooze and interact.

Spend too much time around people, the introvert tank drains and they start needing some alone time.

i was highly aware i'm an introv in the first years of highschool, speaking second language at school was discouraging to me and i was already shy. then it gradually engraved in me that if i dont talk at school i can't even do the easiest thing i can do in that language, i won't pass oral. so i had to push myself bit by bit to somehow communicate more in it. At home i was fine due to our closeness with dad, at settins like school people may be less patient and the confusion between languages happens. i was a lot more comfortable talking with teachers in general than peers, and small talk just stuck to small talk. after graduation, college was better though i have to strike a balance between it and English. that language was cantonese, my second language i cant believe took me my whole life to use it more confidently.

There's no such thing as a extroverted introvert a social battery doesn't exist for an extrovert here's an example, every social interaction takes 1 point of charge. A extrovert starts without any charge and gains charge through social interaction. While a introvert starts with charge and loses charge through social interaction By the end of the day the extrovert is happy and fulfilled while the introverted mentally is tired but, still can be happy, just happier in bed lol (joking) They As were still social creatures that historically lived in packs introverts would still crave social interaction but to a low extent. For example 1 or 2 super close friends like a sibling or cousin and for a few minutes because they're introverts. And then there's social tolerance, Which is ur leniency towards your opposite for example for introverts, it might be a a high tolerance (means he is used and lives in social interactions to a high extent and can tolerate much more social interaction than a normal introvert) he would be able to go through the same amount of social interaction as an introvert with a low tolerance eand won't be as socially drained as the introvert with a low tolerance
