A lot of cartoonish depictions of the most vile, evil people, have been made using characters with religious power. Makes sense considering how well known the crusades are. Doesn't help that despite crusades lasting for so long and such a large percentage of people dying, that it only strengthened the church and gave the Pope more power. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth, and definitely paints the church in a pretty evil tone.

God Bless! And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved! 1. Believe that God sent His Son (Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that He rose again from the dead 3 days later. 2. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins and Turn away from your sins. If you sin again after asking forgiveness of that sin, ask forgiveness again and try not to do it ever again. Jesus will forgive you! 3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for Him to be your Lord and Savior forever. 4. Build a Personal Relationship with Jesus by Praying and Reading the Bible daily and Live for Him Forever. I'm Praying for you and you are loved (Romans 10:9-13)

I used to dislike how movies depict bad guys as one dimensional monsters. But in real life, evil people are almost scared that you don’t catch onto their villainy (The trench coat enthusiasts in the replies are intellectualizing evil. Most of the time it's just a very pedestrian combination of greed and hate, mate)
@cerberusk96
7 ай бұрын
a good movie should never depict the villain as one dimensional. often, people who are villainous are intelligent and have very "valid" reasons for doing what they do, with there usually being a dilemma that they end up on the wrong side of which eventually distorts their concept of a moral compass the further into evil deeds they dive, causing them to either need to lie or create excuses for their actions. sometimes that dilemma is as simple as saying to oneself "it's just a few dollars, they won't even notice if I have a few. I deserve it", and it proceeds into something like this person who is clearly and consciously extorting believers for financial gain.

@@VaNatureLoveryeah no that’s not how it works. Satan went to Jesus in the desert. He tried to deceive Jesus himself. They don’t get “scared” just from the presence of Jesus or an angel. Even on the mountain where Jesus met this man who was possessed. Even the demons facing Jesus weren’t scared. They were angry. They asked Jesus “are you here to destroy us before our time has come?” Out of anger. Not out of fear. Satan doesn’t fear Jesus. He’s hates Jesus. He doesn’t “flee” from Jesus. However, it’s impossible for him to stay when Jesus commands him to leave since Jesus says, and it will happen. Jesus tells a mountain to jump in the ocean and it will. So no matter how angry satan is, he cannot stay. Not out of fear, but because everything in the universe, visible and invisible, listens to the command of Jesus. See it as a computer. The computer has to turn off when I pull the plug. It may not want to, it may tell me “do not turn off your device”. It’s jot scared, but when I pull the plug, it’s impossible for the computer to stay on. It’s like that when Jesus speaks. No matter what, everything obeys

The pastor of the church I attended as a kid was the same way. He never said he "hated" Copeland (also Jim Baker and fucking Joel Osteen), but he incorporated these individuals in his sermons. He preached out against them frequently, specifically how selfish and hypocritical these "preachers" are. When a church grows to such a size where it is televised, and the preacher has become an idol (in the worst definition), you have reached peak corruption. Listening to any of these fuckers' sermons is very reminiscent of a cult. I don't buy any of it, but it bothers me that there are so many people that just slurp this shit up. Truly disturbing.

The way Copeland tries to explain why he doesn't fly commercial just cements that he truly meant it when he called it a tube filled with demons. He doesn't see the average person as "people" in the first place, so when he says that he loves people, he was likely only referring to those who are lining his pockets with money.

Fun fact, Luke 12:33 says the following! "Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys." This dude being wealthy and HOARDING that wealth directly contradicts the religion he supposedly follows. That is a very good way you can very easily point out his hypocrisy.

@@FullOnStriker According to most of the bible it does, because the idea is that if you are wealthy and living luxuriously while others live in poverty and struggle to survive then you are partially responsible, because you have the means to lift even some of them up and yet you instead either hoard that wealth or spend it on needless excess. So at the bare minimum he is a hypocrite for being that ludicrously wealthy while claiming to preach the word of God and Christ.
