After all, most animals don't want to be around humans in such a manner, and only do so because there is easy food to be found. On the other hand, I assume other options, such as relocating and monitoring the bear via tracking device, were too costly and not a realistic solution. Where the terrain is higher the ice retreats, and it is retreating in a faster and faster pace. Is it really so hard to imagine? You guys city dwellers in a hot country? 🙄

Hi! I would encourage you to actually research why that is, and really look at more current scientific data. After all, just 100 years ago we thought demons caused diseases. 50 years ago we thouhts the womb could "wander" around the body and cause mental illness. Just because something used to be believed doesn't necessarily mean it's true, and historically, we tend to get better and better at these types of scientific readings required to support such theories. (Okay, I said you should look into it yourself, and you totally should! Why believe this random Internet person? But.... Because I'm an annoying know it all....) (So it was originally one article that claimed this in the 70s because Boston had seen a particularly snowy winter, and it got repeated in the New York Times. The author was actually a celebrated science and technology journalist back in the days, and they feel embarrassed that this is the one story people bring up when it was so poorly done. It was less than one page, burried in the back, and yet people today continue to quote it as some sort of proof. This despite the fact that even back in the 70s it was believed we were SUPPOSED to be in a Little Ice Age, and a growing consensus that pollution from the industrial revolution was causing climate disruption.) And yes, I totally understand the many reason you shouldn't take a random Internet person at their word, but it's kind of an interesting story. So if you ever did feel like looking into it there you go.

Warming is good, or do you want another ice-age? The bears are thriving, but that's not a popular view, even though its true.

Where do your data from? The reason why we see them more often is absolutely not that they are thriving. It's because of hunger they go to human settlements.

@@padgepadgham3238 Ok, sounds great - if true, which I don't think is the case. I live in the Arctic, and I've seen what rising temperatures has done. I'm an old fart :) and what I see every day is not what you claim. Retreating sea ice can just not be good for animals hunting and breadingon ice and gives birth to their cubs under the surface of ice, and raises them there too. Can I ask for a source?

@@oneshothunter9877 You do realise, before your time the Arctic wasn't always ice covered? I would look at the science. The past president of Greenpeace Dr. Patrick Moore is on KZitem look there first, maybe you're looking at changes that naturally occur over many generations. Look at the mini ice-age that swept across Europe from around 1300 to around 1850. 🎄

The bears, in some form, survived the last time the Earth was outside of an ice age. Some will die off, some will adapt. If not, we still have dogs as part of their family….

They will be pushed south and grizzly’s will be pushed more north and they will interbreed and most likely get fazed out of the gene pool by doing so (polar bears not grizzly’s) which will create a new species, it’s already actively happening
