@@prinzezze Statistically, the wealthy have higher rates of depression than the middle classes, and lower rates than those in poverty. So, no, a lot of money gets in the way of happiness. Globally this is true, too, the countries with the highest rates of happiness have the largest middle classes (such as Sweden). Compare that to countries such as Saudi Arabia or UAE, where some of the richest people on the planet live, but also some of the poorest, everyone is less happy. Having more than everyone else does not make you happy, the key is to have around the same as everyone, and everyone has enough to pay for necessities.

I could just imagine you walking in swinging a mouse by the tail & your poor mother trying to relax & feed your sister! I used to lock my daughter in her room whilst I tried to feed her brother as she always got into mischief. It was jealousy on her part; when my youngest son arrived, I bottle fed him so that he ended up more often than not with the pillow propped next to him with the bottle so that I could keep an eye on big sister. I love Sweden, it looks so beautiful & to be able to walk in the forest would be wonderful. It was strange to see you without your gun on you back, & the birdsong was so delightful. Something I love here in Australia is the bird life & noise of our native birds as they flit about enjoying life. I hope that you remembered everything Christopher wanted from the shops & that you bought him a special treat!! Also Grimm one as well!! It feels so strange to me getting your video though at 11 pm Sunday night as it usually comes in during the early hours of Monday so I sit & enjoy it when I have brunch around midday. This house is SMALL??? Ok...
@soilgrasswaterair
2 ай бұрын
When people have lived in wealth for a long time, they can often lose a bit of touch with what is the norm. I grew up in a house and figured it was normal, until I went to school and had classmates who lived in two bedrooms which were rental apartments with both of their parents or one parent. I don’t think she meant to be rude by expressing it was small, but seeing she and her spouse have two mansions in two different countries, it’s easy to see that wealth has been a norm for them for a very long time. The comparison isn’t anymore how most people live, but how they downsized from an even bigger house than this. As a swede myself, with relatives going far back in the upper class, the norm is to not sort of mention that you are very wealthy but the focus is more to express that you like where the home is situated (often near water and nature). With new money the expression of playing it down can sometimes stem from an insecurity of bot being born into wealth. I clearly don’t know this family, but I’d say it’s a wealth that hasn’t come from generation going way back (based on the look of the houses and the country chosen for their now main home abroad). I put zero value in this, but basing it on an insight in the mindset of ”old money”. I liked this video, and appreciate the integrity because it can be unsafe for people to speak on where their wealth is coming from. Education is important in this family, which I picked up on the mother’s expression when it was mentioned they had a ALL finished school (her now adult children). Seems like a family that cares for one another and has that Swedish air to them!❤

There is much to say: 1. Scandinavia has a quality of life that can't be matched. Some of it comes from their love and connection to nature; 2. Scandinavians are the happiest in the world. Folks should investigate why. This video suggests several prominent reasons for this; 3. Scandinavians have a curiosity that is boundless. The Norwegians have the highest literacy rate in the world. That is, they read the largest amount of material, so they are very cosmopolitan. I taught high school in America, and one of my foreign exchange students from Norway lived on an island near Svalbard. He knew more about the US and the world than his American counterparts in class; 4. When I visited Scandinavia including Gothenburg, I never saw homeless and slums. The quality of life is the highest in the world. Folks should ask why.

@@randomness051 True. We don't know her motives for moving to America. Maybe romance. There was very little immigration to America from European countries since the 1950's. The Marshall Plan revitalized Europe. Here is an ironic counterexample: I taught two sisters and a brother whose parents were from Sweden. They moved to America in the 1950's. They left behind a son(brother) who became a cardiologist in Sweden. He was fed up making only $150,000 per year, whereas in The US he was offered $400,000 from some hospitals. He was sorely tempted to leave, but decided to stay in Sweden. I met a fourth grade teacher in Norway who was only paid $40,000 for teaching, but his education and health care plus other benefits were provided for him. He stayed. That was lovely, Cecilia. Thank you for taking us to Sweden to see where you grew up and sharing your wonderful Mom with us. Your parents are wonderful. They gifted a great life to you and that is a blessing 🩵. What a sweet family in a beautiful country. I think one of the things I would miss in Svalbard is hearing the birds ✨sing. Have a wonderful week, I know you missed your boys at home 🐾💙. Hugs to you 🩷🩷

That must mean, he earned over 2 million dollars in a year. Some CEOs earn more than the prime minister of their country. But don't judge Cecilia by that. She is her own person, and very talented in her own right. I wish them only the best in life.

You're mom is so awesome and I'm only at the beginning of the video!!!! Cool hearing you two speak. As an Irish person I can hear a touch of the accent you picked up but your mom didn't. Much love ❤❤❤

It is intersting that you are exposed to so many people in social media, but outside the virtual life you live away from people, very isolated

Sweden is lovely. My daughter would like to live there for a year or two so I suspect I may be visiting at some point in time. Reminds me of some places in Canada where I grew up. Seems very peaceful. I don’t think Svalbard would be a place for me especially in the winter months. I need to see the sun. I don’t get midnight sun where I now live, but the sun doesn’t set until 10:30 at night. It’s lovely.

So is it a pre-requisite of homes that your families buy, that there be a BALCONY or RAILING to hang your sheets and comforters out on? I would think your sister in Massachusetts had a hard time finding such a house that has THAT.
