It was not a rant Joseph. Thank you for sharing how it all started. It takes courage. Sharing ones insights often helps others to reach their own so I appreciate listening to your story and how you tackled it and who you have become, how you have evolved. Just like you found comfort in Chromes videos back in the day, someone can find that now in yours and thats amazing. I do! ❤

Hi Joseph! That was not 'a rant'. That was a hard undertaking and I fully understand. Thank you. So appreciate your chat about that tough part of your life. Having been through something a little similar, but most definitely not to the extent that you needed to, I really do get it. None of your viewers should ever expect or even hint at the expectation that part of having a KZitem channel means that you have to go there and divulge your personal life, to any extent, but they do and that simply makes me furious at times. I see it over and over on each channel that I follow. Anyway, again thank you Joseph. I am going to go back and re-watch your build. You have such talent and did such an awesome job. I wish you well in all that you do Joseph. So pleased that you seem happier, are involved a lot more in different things now. I know that as viewers we will never know just exactly what you have been through and still are. That is how it should remain. This Mum, all the way in NZ, just wants to give you a big hug of assurance right now, that that light at the end of that tunnel, is just going to get brighter and brighter and that smile that we are seeing more now, so much bigger. Kiwi hugs Joseph. 4.30 am, tucked up in my Sprinter and these eyes are leaking! 😊👋👍💜🚐🌏

Considering, I remember you as a customer at WholeFoods way back around 2010? probably pre ex and child, I am happy you’re sharing this experience and have come to a better place in life. Sometimes things like homelessness after a breakup are the things that set people on different paths in life, and there’s no shame in starting from a position of adversity. It only makes what you achieve after that more meaningful. Be proud of what you have achieved.

Well said. I’ve been watching since the beginning and the skill Joseph exhibited during the construction of the van build and everything else he does is approached with an attitude of perfection. His videos have become so much more polished a you’d expect. He is a very sensitive person as well as very thoughtful and introspective. It’s interesting to know more about the backstory but not our business.

It’s amazing that sharing verbally can be so cathartic. Not only does it help the person who shares but also the people who listen. We all have our secrets…. (Sometimes not so secret. :-) However, sharing can be exactly what some of your subscribers need to hear. Who may be going through hard times as well. Cathartic thoughts works both ways! So, look at you now… you can impart your wisdom based on your life experiences. It seems you faced your innermost troubles head on! You owned them. then went to work fixing or discarding what you no longer wanted or needed! That is how life works. You can own your life or blame your life on “the world” or your childhood, spouse, or or Donald Duck!!! Whatever!!! Making eXcues for your life means you do not WANT TO CHANGE! Thanks for your wisdom.

Sometimes you just gotta sit and talk about stuff. We all have to take things one day at a time, one situation at a time. We do our best to make things work out, sometimes unexpected things happen, but we end up with opportunities that we would never expect. Enjoying the little things gets us through bigger issues. In the end everything ends up being ok!

The possibility is endless for a very skilled person like you. Hello Joseph, thank you for sharing your life with us. Sometimes it's forgotten that father's go thru some tough life struggles. Most of the time the focus is on the woman. The judicial system is normally on the woman's side. Typically we as men have to indure horrible financial problems. Not saying that the moms don't need help or we don't need to take care of our kids but this side of the story is somehow left out. So just wanted to say thank you for you sharing your journey with all of us. Your voice is definitely being heard. God bless you.

Hey Joseph, many of us find our rock bottom at different points in life. I think these experiences bring into focus what is important for each of us. I personally spent a month in a cab of 1989 single cab Ford Ranger and iam 6 feet tall. Lol. I now spend months every year in my minivan with and without my spouse, not only as an inexpensive way to travel, but to also strengthen my stoic practices. It always grounds me with how little I need, and should I find myself there again, I/we will be fine. I don't ever expect to return to my rock bottom, but these experiences provide confidence I could still handle it. I think the biggest learning I have experienced and witnessed is that we all find a way, good, bad, or otherwise. It puts me in awe of the truly destitute and how they manage to survive in spite of their misery. I love the newly expanded adventures of "Sharing the Wild.""" With experience in sport & commercial fishing diving, you are rejuvenating my own interest in the sport. Keep up the great videos

Never be embarrassed with what happens in life. We all go they things. When my marriage of 24 yrs broke up I had no place to go. My ex took the truck I was using. I eventually was thrown out of the home we had, my children were turned against me. I was homeless for sometime. Sleeping on my parents couch, then my sisters basement. My things i had were in storage. My ex still is a nasty man. I had to start over from nothing. Be proud of who u are today... my kids r grown n I hardly see them.

I started watching Van life about 6 years ago when My husband went on hospice with Parkinson. At night when I couldn’t sleep I found KZitem and Crome on Van Life, which led to you, Jeffie bear and Emi. You all filled my life with positive vibes while going through a rough time. My husband passed in 2019, and you guys helped me get through the grieving. Not that I still don’t have waves of it go through me, but it’s been helpful getting to watch and ride along in your lives seeing parts of the world I will probably not see except through your eyes. Thanks for being there. And praying God will always be the wind behind your back, a lamp unto your feet, and a provider for all you set your hand to do. God bless you,

Joseph, you're a stand-up guy, honest and definitely sincere. You are admitting to having had troubles, but you're probably taking on too much of the responsibility for any troubles in your relationship. It takes two. Hanging on to the feelings of guilt and shame will get in the way of future relationships. If you base your feelings on who you used to be and how you acted in the past, it clouds honest feelings in the future. You don't want to repeat past mistakes by ruminating on them. 💓✌👍
