This is, I think, the most visually stunning video you've created thus far. The quality of the equipment, camera angles, subject matter, etc are top notch. And of course huge shout out to Aaron's outstanding editing skills- I especially loved the tent setup sequence and starry night 💕 but of course the real star of the show was the coyote encounter- moved me to tears. @@ShelbyWalkerAdams Honestly, sometimes I do. But, I’ve been camping alone for a long while now. Bad things can happen anywhere anytime. I think of it this way, yes…A human can choose to do something to me that can make a huge impact on me. That’s their choice. Not mine. I’m choosing to live my life regardless of others choices. I do take safety precautions: situational awareness, not announcing that I’m alone, knife, and pepper spray. I trust my gut. You can also carabiner your tent closed at night. For me personally, I prefer to to alone in the deep wilderness over any sort of noisy party. My last camping adventure was in the Teton backcountry. The people camping around me were of my same mindset and attitude. I was left alone at camp, but met the friendliest people on trail. Try it out and have an adventure! What choice do YOU want to make?

I like solo trips because I’m a slow hiker. I take quite a few breaks, especially when gaining elevation. When I hike with a buddy I feel rushed and usually end up way more sore and tired at the end of the day. Further, I’m more of a camper than a hiker. I love a 5-7 mile hike, then chilling at my campsite enjoying the solitude. No need to engage or entertain. I work a job that requires constant and intense social interaction. Solo backpacking is one of my main ways to decompress. I do like hiking with others, but given the choice, I go it alone.

My mom carries a book around about Animal Medicines, Seeing a coyote like that might be the universes way of sending you a personal message lol. The book says on Coyote Medicine: "Coyote will teach you a lesson about yourself. Coyote teaches us the beauty of our trust and innocence until we become too serious, then Coyote backtracks to trick us out of the pompousness that masks our fears and seriousness. If we forget to be children and take life with laughter and ease, Coyote appears to pester us until we let go of the inner pain that keeps us from knowing the joys of life. When you destroy the illusion of who you are to others and be yourself, you will have restored your innocence. There are many sides of ourselves that we show to others. This is almost always what we want them to see based on which face would bring us approval and acceptance. We must learn to shatter the mirrors of self- importance and to laugh at the expectations or projections that others send our way. Coyote is you, me, booby traps, jet airplanes with toilets that don't work, blind dates, and all the humorous and whimsical things we encounter along life's way. Get ready for more of the laughs- lots more. Explore the present chaos. See life’s humor. Let go and laugh. Welcome the unexpected." I don't know if I always believe all of that but it's still an awesome experience to have documented! Prairie dogs was mainly about relaxing lol.

Well that was a wonderful video I got so into it that it was gone before I had a chance to say or do anything. That coyote could have been a male also they squat too from time to time. That trail reminded me so much of the Granite Canyon Trail up out of Jackson Hole Wyoming over into Alaska basin, when you was looking down on that water that reminded me a lot of that. I took that trail I just mentioned in 1976 in the middle of the summer and on the way down I came down towards Jenny Lake, down through hurricane pass and I stopped to take a picture of the Grand Tetons all three of them it took two pictures and when I held the camera down to see if I had any more film and I looked up the clouds had already dropped and covered the Grand Teton itself that told me right off the bat I better get down off that mountain cuz I was in short sleeve shirt and shorts and by the time I got down to my pack it was snowing on me but I loved every minute of it. I thought you might enjoy my little trip into Tetons the trip you just made reminded me of it so much. Thanks for the video have a great day and stay safe out there Dixie.

That was very interesting. I've been followed by a small pack of coyotes (family?) and they just watched and followed for about ten minutes. They were no more than twenty feet from me on a small rise I was following. I was quite vulnerable but they payed me no mind except curiosity. This was Alberta's Kananaskis Country/Sheep River. In Jasper NP we had either a coyote or wolf relieve itself at the corner of our tent in the middle of the night, with a full moon. Shadow clearly visible through the tent. No bother.
