Candle math Video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/25yvl66Ah5V-fZg ❤️❤️❤️

Great video! I also prefer to do my candle math by hand as well, but for a completely different reason. Dementia and Alzheimer’s runs in both sides of my family and even though I’m fairly young, 46, I want to do anything and everything I can to keep my mind and body active. I don’t want my son to go through what I’m going through with my mom and what I went through with both grandmothers. Some say it’s inevitable but at least I’m trying.

I completely agree with taking the time to lean the formula bs. Using the apps. It took me 3 days to get it then I went back & calculated from 10% thru 6% to fully understand the formula as well as setting up the burn test 7 days from pour date. Back to basic for me - & being able to explain it out loud to others is very impressive. Majority of people who love candles have no idea what it takes to create them! 🕯#candlelife - thank you again for this video 🎥

I feel like a lot of students (particularly us girls) go through school thinking we’re bad at math and that we’ll never use it. After I left high school and decided to go into sciences I had to go back and take all the math I avoided and actually found out I was good at it - I just needed better teachers and to change my relationship with math. It can be fun! And then we go out in the world and learn there’s so many times we can use it haha! Thanks again for a great video, Erica 😊

Very good video! I 100% agree that it's great to have automation but you always need to know the foundation oh how you got there. It's like the saying about catching a fish and feeding someone for a day or teaching them to fish and feed them for a lifetime. That spreadsheet will work for a certain situation but learning how to work the equation will help your business to scale and you out of a lot of mistakes. I love math and let me tell you I did it by hand a lot and have saved my own butt too many times. Just did it last week🤣

I use parchment paper and literally write down how much wax and fragrance I need to use on the paper that all my candles are set up on because if I don't write it down I completely second guess myself. And it works! For now. Haha

I have a very small kitchen so I have to pour in my living room, I literally have wallpapered my tiny kitchen with neon post it notes of candle (math) formulas 😅😂 and will forget that I’m using one wax and do the fragrance load for the totally opposite wax😂 , we’re human and math is evil 🤣

I downloaded an app for candle making and at first I was so glad that I found something that could make my life "easier" later on once I scale up but I quickly learned by doing the math myself and seeing what the app gave me that it wasn't completely accurate. so with all that said I am only going to trust the math I make plus that equation is super easy!

love this info! so important to not only know our formula but to understand it! geometry definitely can come into play in wick placement haha. and I was not a math kid either but my biz has both forced me and allowed me the opportunity to learn so much!

I appreciate you sharing. I agree, the calculators are quick. But, I like to understand how I got there. I use the formulas written out on my testing page for each size and fo. Then I'll double check my work with the calculator. Without learning the formula you taught me, I would probably have struggled with my very 1st our a couple weeks ago. I calculated wax and fo for 1 pitcher for: 4oz tin, 8oz mason, 8oz straight jar, and 1 clamshell with the same fo because these will be the vessels I will be using. Why not pour them all up at once right??!! I literally had less than an oz overage! I was so proud!! Lol. Thanks for sharing! ❤️

Oh yeah, I made a similar mistake only I had too much wax and not enough fragrance oil, Luckily I was in testing phase. So I agree with you on knowing the math and how to calculate is very important in case something like this happens. Thank you so so much for your videos.

I did something so similiar the other night and had to do the same thing, recalculate and add more wax🤦🏽 the math can get nerve-wracking, but it's better to know every aspect of your business then to get too big and get lost in a sauce cuz we're depending on technology🤷🏾
