They have a very pretty shell and this is the problem for kids and some adults. They walk along a beach and see this pretty Shell and bend down to pick it up. They dont know have grabbed and then a sharp pain. The pain feels like a bad wasp sting and you think to yourself, did this seashell just sting me? Then you start having issues breathing and you remember seeing a sign warning people to stay clear of these pretty shells. Most wont survive this injected venom and will die a painful death if not put into a medical coma.

Another thing that makes Hammerhead Worms scary is that they produce Tetrodotoxin in their secretions, the same toxin which Pufferfsh produce. It can actually be absorbed through human skin and produce toxic effects, even death. The only way to safely exterminate these creatures is by dissolving them in vinegar, using thick gloves or tools to move them. Giant African Snails are scary because they tend to harbor a parasite named Angiostrongylus Cantonensis, or "Rat Lungworm" which causes severe meningitis in humans, inflammation of the membrane lining your spinal cord and brain. Thats called, natural selection. Frankly, you could argue all invasive species are natural selection. It was a migration event caused unwittingly, or on purpose by another animal. Its a matter of perspective. Rafting events happened alot, where animals crossed oceanic barriers through rafts and settled on new lands, often completely alien to them. Thats effectively what is happening here, just with human intervention instead of pure chance.

Apologies if already asked, what is the full name of that snail-munching worm 00:40? I'd love to do some research online if anybody has any links. Tks EDIT: sorry... I actually watched further. Name is stated. I was just impatient. I'll sit back down and behave. Awesome vid!!

It's kind of fitting that this hammerhead worm is a predator since the hammerhead shark itself is also a predator

Interesting video dude. I have to say though I think it's funny the scientist believe the worm has memory and a shared one. I'm sure their were numerous test, but if the test you described was it, then I dont think one could say it used memory. Now if they put food in the same spot all the time, and then last day switch it so they need to choose a different path at the end, I think that would be a better test for memory. If it goes to the old room, memory was probably involved, if it bypasses and gets to the food room again without the stop, the I would say it purely finding it with it's own abilities no memory involved

I love earthworms. They are fun to raise. Sadly, I lost my colonies due to a freeze during a hospital stay.

Can you make a meme involving "the magnetic snail"? Please, please, please, please, please. Then, one about the hammerhead worm and "It's Hammer time" ...? I would do it if I was tech savvy.
