I've always said it that people talk down on Ibadan all the time. It's actually a nice city to live in and things are cheaper there compared to Lagos.

Thank you for noticing that. Ibadan was set to be like that. Hunger is scarce if you know people , sorry no. If you are related.. Most if not all Ibadan guys cook more food than they need in case visitors shows up. I am in the UK. If you are late for a meeting or meet other family (not Nigerians) while they are having lunch or dinner, you have to wait for them to finish. Tap water by law is free and you can request that in public place here. If you hate Ibadan and rich or you hate Ibadan and poor, both won't help you. Ibadan rich and poor are mostly mixed. Dont get me wrong. I lived in Lagos, Kano, Umuahia Ibeku, and Enugu before I ventured out. For me, I still believe there is no place like Ibadan for me in Nigeria. We take no nonsense.

Lol I don't think there is a need to compare lagos and ibadan...lagos is nigerians fast paced city same like u find in other parts of the world.. besides we live in a modern times so most places will grow too...Best to stay where matches ur lifestyle...also I must add that there are places in lagos state where life is slow too..u don't know all the towns in lagos...personally life is slow in Satellite Town, festac Town etc i grew up there and ppl are just living their normal cool lives over there no pressure or fakeness

Afam is actually right. Even an Akure man, a friend, recently told me Ibadan is less developed compared to Akure. These ignorants do not know that Ibadan is the economic hub of Oyo state and has placed Oyo state in 6th position in IGR behind Lag, Rivers, Abuja, Ogun & Delta. It is also 3rd position in VAT generation behind only Lagos & Rivers state. These are the indices of measuring growth of a city.

Stop making things up. Who hate Ibadan? Certainly not the local people. And local people are combination of other people from everywhere. You personally hate Ibadan the way you sounded. You are mis informed. Ibadan carried Western State for a long time. That included couple of states like Ogun and Oshun with Oyo. Those were grown to be states on their own. Afam Orji is not a Yoruba man to understand Ibadan and why? Ibadan typical dont share a lot of secrets with outsiders to Ibadan. For this guy to try to explain that Ibadan is hated and why has no meaning. We love our city. Life in Ibadan is easier for Ibadan people and why we love her that way. Afam Orji is not a name to trust on topic. Not Yoruba. A lot about Ibadan are never exposed to outsiders even from other Yoruba towns from outside Ibadan. To understand Ibadan, you have to be inline with Olubadan of Ibadan like a Chief. not Mogaji. Not deep typical Ibadan person, you simply know nothing. This guys name up there wont get much knowledge of Ibadan to then guess she is hated. History never tell details. Ibadan is truly loved. Ibadan is home to true Ibadan people.
