South Africans are the MOST DISCIPLINED in Rugby, we strive on playing by the rules to win. It's always the other teams who can't get the shit right, hold us back, play negative, obstruction, coming in from the sides, etc.... and then want to act out. But let them act out, we release our rage for these exact moments, hence our smiles.
@patrickchilds2987

I think the current Bok side are extremely disciplined especially with their aggressive defence , but to say that it is only other sides and not the Boks that obstruct and come in from the side or play out isn’t exactly true is it

@@patrickchilds2987 We definitely make mistakes, but it's like 12% Go and look at every game. It's not in the Springboks' interest to play dirty EVER. Because then we lose points it's simple math. And heaven forbid their heads on a chopping block both public and management (we tend to be EXTREMELY CRITICAL).... Yes there are mistakes, for example like Beast picking up that one Japanese player (shit happens), but notice how he immediately realizes his error. Everyone around the world is intimidated by the Boks, and they panic in EVERY GAME.

Rage works both ways in rugby and what gets done gets payback To say that you don't fight a certain team is a ridiculous statement. If you're playing hooker and your opposite number knees you where it hurts most of all then in the next loose maul you accidently tread on his head... and then after the game you buy each other a pint and laugh about it. And if the referee can't stop the violence then it's '99' isn't it.
@patrickchilds2987

I get what your saying Donald, aggression is a vital part of the game, but a bit of payback isn’t fighting. Certainly in the lower leagues handbags happen occasionally , but not in the pro game. Get carded and you could lose your side the game. Do it regularly and your club will unload you asap.

What the offer of Rugby represents to the less sophisticated minds and cultures. IT IS LIFE _right?_ No, it's a game; one where the vast majority of us get to test out our 'weapons of pure violence' in a controlled environment so nobody gets really hurt during the experiments. These may be useful at some point (most of us hope not). But to the Saffies Rugby is a permanent life and death situation. They have absolutely no doubt that they will be able to successfully plea self-defence for every single thing that happens on the pitch, even Bakkies. Using whatever is the legal equivalent of 'He made me do it', the codependents bleat. They are existentially threatened just by the opposition's presence. Like constantly expecting a cunning lion to drop through the carefully opened thatch roof (and it isn't even a thursday!), or a rhino stomping 50 mambas to charge through your bedroom wall first, a take no prisoners situation, one to treat the opposition as the targets of apartheid, to rattle their cages so they get put off their game - only to find that when their own confidence is highest, their self-assuredness is absolute, they can't win. It was always an illusion. The secret to those days when they couldn't 'travel'; i.e., make them welcome, feel safe, even honoured. Growing up there must require attaining a certain level of PTSD just to fit in, be normal. Which would explain the preparation for the last RWC. Their anxiety levels would have been almost off the charts. Insecurity levels at Max+1. At the end of the game they are all smiles, and it is truly genuine, they fully expected to get seriously hurt out there, thus they are to the very core of every eukaryotic cell RELIEVED. Which makes you wonder just how cunning Mandiba was? Did he know that the White South African was his own worst enemy? That the merest provocation will expose the total loss of humanity beneath the nouveau riche façade. That Rugby would increase pressure to bursting point? What ABSA means to me - Anybody But South Africa.

If memory serves me correctly, the last Bok player to be given a red card during an international that was not overturned after the match was Janus Labuschagne in 2002. *Twenty* years ago!! Bismarck and Damian both got red cards in games against the All Blacks, 2013 and 2017 respectively, but both were overturned by the match officials after the game and removed from their records. No other top tier team in the world can make this claim. This video is just the standard bs we hear about how dirty we are where the stats actually tell a completely different story.

LOL did you come up with that all on your own? If that were true, and bearing in mind that the Springboks have less red cards for foul play than any other top tier team in the world over the last 20 years, then perhaps the ideal thing would be to give everyone else steroids too....
@hasterion
2 жыл бұрын
@@Karma-qt4ji No not on my own...I've talk, I've seen and I've been in South Africa. And I have frequently been in contact with high level sportsmen. Controls are not the same out there... Don't get me wrong, I admire the boks, but their incredible physics don't come from drinking water, eating proteins and working out only. Their agressive behaviour is another sign that most of them are not natty. But this is not only in SA I recon. I been to France and seen kids taking 10 to 15 kg of muscle after one year to get a chance to play in the top 14. BTW Taking roids and having red cards is not something that you can correlate. Sorry but this is not a valid argument. I recognise myself that I have no prove, I am just basing to what I have heard and seen in Capetown. cheers
@Karma-qt4ji
2 жыл бұрын
@@hasterion Utter bollocks mate! South African rugby players were oversized and overly agressive long before steroids were even discovered so steroids are clearly not the cause. Just looking at the father and son players, Schalk Burgers father was 2 inches taller than him and weighed 4 kilograms less; Wikus van Heerden's father was an inch taller and 2 kgs lighter. This says "roids" to you, does it? Newsflash: steroids do not grow bones.... Steroid fueled aggression would not last 5+ years after a person last used steroids so either Faf is not using steroids, he has managed to fool Sale Sharks controls for 5 years or Sales Sharks are happily turning a blind eye to his usage. Take half the Springbok side spread over 4 foreign countries in multiple clubs, all managing to evade detection? I am not sure whether to feel insulted or impressed that you think we need roids to be that good! You either were never in Cape Town (see correct spelling) or you are not very observant. Afrikaners are large people! If you then you whittle the entire demographic down to just 100 000 seniors who are big and good enough to play rugby in a rugby mad country, of course you are going to get the giants amongst them. Yeah, the red card thing *is* a valid argument on the back of your blaming the aggression shown in this video on steroid use. The aggression shown here is controlled aggression, aka not the stuff that leads to red cards, and controlled agression is not a side effect of steroid use, now is it? BTW, yes I realise we have had a player or two suspended for banned substances, but tarring the entire SA rugby fraternity with that brush would be like calling the entire New Zealand rugby fraternity "wife beaters".
