What distinguishes the Dominican Republic is the variety of environments, as a miniature continent on a single island.. There are not only the typical Caribbean beaches with golden sand, calm turquoise water, coconut trees, jungle and mangroves. There are also beaches of white, black sand or pebble, with big waves and high cliffs. There are several mountain ranges. Some of them go spectacularly into the sea. The Central one has the highest peaks in the Caribbean, cold valleys and rain forests. This is an island with abundant water, rivers with rapids and waterfalls, and other calm ones that reach the sea through green plains. There are several navigable inland lakes, including the largest in the Caribbean, more than 44 meters below sea level, with a central island that is home to crocodiles. However, DR also has very dry desert areas with only cacti and dunes. You really have to come back if you want to know everything!

Just got to the dominican republic recently and searched for some locations. Found some of your videos from there. The quality of this cameras is great. Is it gopro 10? I just got the Osmo Action 3 but the quality is not very good. I think I'm gonna get a gopro instead. My gopro 8 had better quality actually than osmo action 3.

I'm glad you got to go to Los Haitises, I think is better when you go on you own cause you can explore and do more on ur own. With a tour they take you where they want and it's all business for them. You should enjoy Las Terrenas, have fun buddy

Thank you for bringing us Cayo Levantado. I wish I was there now soaking the sun and listening to the wind and wave of the water. Funny how many people are late. You are talking about Dominican time where "now" means between now and 1 hour later.

Why is it that tour boats NEVER give passengers PFD's?? When that boat sinks almost everybody will die. The chances of it happening are small but once in a lifetime it becomes a disaster. I't's happened even in the US.

A similar experience in Cuba is going from Havana to the island of Cayo Levisa. You can sleep on the island in small cabanas. The beach is actually larger than Levantado with part of it in the jungle. I went there a few years ago.

Turquoise water does not guaranteed the water is pristine or clear. Turquoise water = white sand beach + shallow water and less corals. There are many kind of turquoise level water, but it's easy to know if the water is clear when you do snorkeling or swimming
