So true! I tell myself this as I trained from being barely able to do a single chin-up to doing them for reps and bringing my weight from 99kg to 83kg, “It doesn't get easier, you just get better.”

Keep up the great content! I’ve commented a lot. I’m 50. Recently lost 50 lbs. it’s hard every day to get up at 4:30am and run 4 miles before work, but I do it. Every day. I feel so much better. 20 lbs to go…

@@BodyweightMuscle the 50 lbs came off quickly and easily. I’m struggling with the last 20 because I like my 3 cheat meals each week and I need to cut them back to drop more. I’ve plateaued with my current calorie count. I have been doing 2500 calories. It looks like I’m going to need to cut that to around 2200 to keep losing.

@@churchhymnsandpsalms you mentioned running in your post but what about strength training? This was one of the biggest things that changed my body composition. You might even be able to keep the calories and cheat meals the same. Adding muscle does wonders!!

I understand very personally your point on losing your body during a hospital stay. 83 days in a hospital and sub-acute rehab facility… I lost over 50% of my muscle mass. Just now starting to get some back. Still dealing with some of the damage caused by the disorder that laid me up. Thank you so much for the content. I appreciate the guidance - especially from someone who has been at the bottom and had to struggle to get back up. I am very impressed by your journey - thank you for sharing it! I may reach out about some coaching…

Happy to hear that my content has been helpful to you during this time and I'd be more than happy to chat with you, learn more about your story, and even coach you if we're the right fit. I always love helping an "underdog" get back at it!

A great motivational video. It often seems that people who have survived a significant injury or illness come back with a steely determination and strong willpower that many 'able-bodied' folks lack, I guess because you no longer take good health for granted. You have some fantastic outdoor calisthenics equipment available to you - is that a public facility, and what city or town are you in? Unfortunately here in Edinburgh, Scotland the city council are removing our very limited equipment due to 'health and safety' concerns (it is quite old) and say they have no money to replace it - such a pity they think so small! Thanks for the video.

Great to hear from you all the way from beautiful Scotland (which is on my travel bucket list, by the way). It's sad to hear that even a capital city like Edinburgh doesn't have a single calisthenics park. These parks are such low-budget projects with so much value for almost all ages (13-100). I'm currently living in Thessaloniki (the second biggest city in Greece) since my fiancé is finishing an internship here, and I'm lucky to live relatively near a place that is open to the public. The area where they built these facilities (there are actually two next to each other in a big park) used to be a junky spot, but since the calisthenics facilities were built, the area has really cleaned up. Back in my hometown, I went back and forth with the mayor, explaining the value of such a park that has such a low cost (I even offered to be at the park on Sundays to offer free guidance to people interested in learning about basic bodyweight training), but he never took it seriously. Instead, he went ahead and built a hideous machine-based fitness park that almost nobody ever visits, and now the equipment is just rusting away.

Hey man I’m 56 and I do 1600 walking lunges on beach once per week and 3 x body weight circuits with each one consisting of 50 pull-ups 50 chin ups 100 dips 100 inverted rows 100 3/4 Superman push ups I do not need to be motivated bcos I have to do it or face the later years of my life as an unfit chubster🫣Plus my gf is 20 yrs younger and we have a baby and a toddler so I can’t be getting old😂

I FORCE myself. Lunch break: 3 to 5 mile run depending on time. Evening: 100 squats, 100 situps, 240 push ups... (x4 sets of 50 on bars, then rest different hand positions). Kickboxing training once per week... Friday, Saturday, Sunday rest. I'm 50. This way, it may be boring but it's routine
