Something I do now when I detangle is use really warm water. The warm water relaxes my natural curl pattern into more of a wave and makes the process much easier. The cooler water temps made my natural curls shrink up and more difficult to comb out. If you can do it under running warm water thats ideal. If you use a spray bottle keep the water in the bottle really warm. I hope this help someone 💕

@lorila-northrup7748 I think when someone says, "hair falling out," it usually refers to hair loss from the root caused by medical conditions, harsh chemicals, and really bad braiding or weaving techniques. To the uninitiated, it may seem like overkill to involve prayer. But they don't understand that this has quite frankly been a traumatic suffering for many black children who had people who didn't care enough doing their hair, especially those who were told to just deal with the pain in silence or get whooped. So happy that we have better products now, but it still requires patience and love to carry out with grace.

@@YouKnowMeDuhit's not that deep. Whats worse is us continuing to live in trauma on purpose and hear none of the things our hair tells us because we continue to live by the indoctrination that we had as children and then blame the adults instead of choosing to grow up now that we know the difference. Pray for that.

@@Michebeauty In the past yes and i lost too much hair. My ultra-fine hair is weakest when wet. My trichologists and stylist do not detangle my hair wet or dry. They detangle my hair damp with leave ins. My trichologists even make their own leave in detangler for their clinic patients. When I used to get box braids, the very firat rule of takomg them down was never wet the hair. We would use a leave in and grease to lubricate the hair to detangle and once all the tangles, matts and shed hairs were out, then we shampooed. Dor some reason for some people when they wet tangled hair, it locks even more. I do not know if it's mainly the finer texture or the more raised cuticle but it happens to straight or kinky hair.

I’m happy I do this already bc it tells me I’m observing my hair & what it likes & doing what makes sense. I noticed deep conditioner would just sit on my hair so if I’m low porosity, adding a bit of water to emulsify it helps it spread & absorb easier

Yes! Using lots of water as you're detangling is a game changer!✨🖤 Have you used this conditioner in your routine yet?

Thank you so much, had a stylist tell me to never use water 1st before detangling.

My hair's 4C with 70% shrinkage on wash days. I've found that Tangleteezer brush is an absolute godsend and makes detangling a breeze. Worth every penny.

You need to give a class to these chicks over here in Philly. Cause my near waist length hair is in THEIR PRISON when I go just for a trim 😐

I agree with this method. ❤The water 1st is important because your loosening the strands from remaing debris & residue 1st and then evenly layering the conditioner.

When I used to use a detangling brush I did it this way. Now I finger detangle my hair while it’s dry before shampooing. Saves me on a ton of broken strands.

Finger detangling works great as well 🙌🖤

I pretty much only detangle while in the shower at this point, maybe do some mild finger detangling before with water and pre-wash conditioner for better product absorption.

I've been doing it wrong all of my life 🙈. I'm glad I found this content. Next wash, I'm going to stay by the water. I haven't been activating my conditioner properly

Gorgeous! 😍 Can you do a video of how you upkeep your natural hair under the sew in? Like do you keep it for a month, then take it out, wash your hair & put it back in?

Just use your fingers as much as you can. Then wide tooth comb first then whatever brushes you prefer to detangle with. Hair just needs to be wet:

I'm able to detangle my hair with just water before washing because the water where I live is soft, but I like to detangle before shampooing because I dont like how tangled it gets trying to scrub my scalp with all the dead fallen hair stuck in my hair, and smoothing is harder, as well as detangling before shampoo ensures my hair is fully saturated and wet. Also, I specifically brush my hair to remove all the fallen hair, or else my hair WILL tangle from it. And then when I'm done detangling, I lightly pull the ends of my hair to remove the stubborn hairs that were taken out with the brush. I detangle before shampooing and after while I'm letting conditioner sit, as well as while I rinse it out. Thats what works for me

I cannot put that much conditioner in my hair. It gets all stretchy and it snaps. I just shampoo rinse and use a detangling leave-in moisturizer.

I do this but personally I like to finger detangle my hair first then go in with the comb. Especially since I’m experiencing postpartum shedding.

Finger detangling is a great option as welll! I think you would really like our Strengthen Deep Conditioner. It has protein and moisture that can help with shedding 🖤
