I only texlaxed once which was also my first time about 5 months ago and left it alone after that. 3 months in and my hair just started shedding like crazyyy it’s also starting being really hard to mange like very tangled and dry, every time I’d comb it or finger detangle (I’m very gentle with it btw) there would be so much strands of hair being snatched from the root, Idk what’s going on or what to make of it. I know It’s not my diet because my diet has been the same for a long time and I don’t have any health conditions either. I honestly don’t know what’s going on, I just feel defeated at this point. If you know what’s going on please let me know. 😩

I know this is late but I personally find when it’s time for me to texlax again my shedding kicks up a ton, and when I complete the process it stops. Stretching texlaxed hair is more complex to me than relaxed.

Hey. What wld u advise when the middle of ur hair is d shortest length for relaxed hair?
@AlexisKimberlyy
4 жыл бұрын
Marla C I’ve been there! It sucks. How much shorter is the middle? I would cut to at least an inch above where the damaged middle section ends. Long term, make sure to moisturize in sections and when using hot tools, try your best to detangle the back middle portions as much as possible. A lot of the damage we get in that back middle section is because we neglect it and/or because we can’t see what we’re doing.

Hi Alexis! Thank you for all your videos they are always helpful. I have a hair delima I was hoping you would have some advice. I currently texlax my own hair. I've been doing so for a year now and everything was going fine. I have thick bra strap length hair. However I have recently been combating CCCA in my crown region so I have paused the texlexing until my scalp heals. How should I go about treating my texlax hair that might not be too keen on stretching my relaxer so long? When would it be safe to texlax again? How does one transition or prolong their texlax hair without breaking? Thanks for any feedback in advance!

Hey Tameekia! Thanks for writing in. Your hair sounds absolutely beautiful and I wish you fast healing. This is tough because normally I would say protective styling would be best. However, as I'm sure you know, any styles involving tension, like box braids or twists, would likely make the condition worse. For me, I'm comfortable wearing full wigs with no leave out. I'm not sure if you are comfortable with that, but I think the best way to protect your hair is to wear a full unit until your scalp heals. You can do loose braids with your hair underneath with a satin cap over it, or even just pin your hair underneath the cap. If you're not comfortable with that than loose buns are the way to go. You can even attach a ponytail to resemble the length you normally have. As for texlaxing, I say wait until you have at least an inch of new growth on the sensitive spot. You really want to make sure your follicles aren't damaged before you put a relaxer on it. I hope that helps! Let me know what you ultimately decide to do! Xoxo

@@AlexisKimberlyy thanks! I went with a very loose box braid look using my real hair. I have been combating CCCA with herbal scalp treatments and have about two inches now of new growth (not sure I mentioned that before) so in the crown area I just did a VERY loose box braid with extension. I continued to oil and massage my scalp with the treatment but was unsure when to texlax again. I definitely will wait for one more inch of new growth before I texlax again and hopefully my scalp will continue to heal. I will definitely be trying out loose buns and full wigs in the future. These are styles I don't really do but think they are so cute. Normally I just two or three strand twist my hair very neatly and call it a day. Thanks again for your advice. Your channel gives me life!

I texlaxed my hair myself and I made a mistake of not buying a neutralizing shampoo so on the same day I went to the store and bought the shampoo and redid my hair because I wasn't happy with the results. I'm really happy with the curls and it took me a little while to notice that I have burns on my scalp but they aren't severe. The curls are great now but the length of my hair isn't. I had cut it a while ago when I was still natural and I did a sloppy job. All I want is my hair to grow longer. I used some of my friend's Cream of Nature Moisture Curl Hair Milk and it really brings out my curls and it feels soo good on my hair!! I highly recommend it!! Thanks for the video too

If you stop eating wheat, your hair will thrive more. Facts. Most people won't do it till they have to or if they start fasting or become raw vegan for a while... but wheat is a body , hair, and health killer!

@AlexisKimberlyy
4 жыл бұрын
Shania Smith Hey babe!!! Welcome! Happy to have you here. Texlaxed hair is a relaxer, which we commonly call a perm. Texlaxing is when you shorten the relaxer processing time to retain some texture and ease the manageability of your hair. I have a few videos on this subject. Check em’ out and feel free to ask more questions ❤️❤️

Hey alexis. Im really frustrated because I'm 11 weeks into my hair journey and I've been doing everything: deep conditioning weekly, combing only on wash day and finger detangling gently on the days in between, moisturizing and sealing everyday or every other day, wearing protective styles, having trimmed my hair when I relaxed it which was 11 weeks ago etc... And I still don't see a difference in length and I'm so frustrated. Im texlaxed btw. When is one "supposed" to see a difference in length and thickness?
