That double bass drum kick is killer. Rip Vinny Paul and Dimebag Daryll. Two legends of heavy metal. They are a Texas band but the lead singer Phil Anselmo is from New Orleans.

Groove Metal at it's FINEST! "Cemetery Gates" is a range finder song, "Cowboys From Hell" same vibe as this one. Some of the later stuff was my favs, they got HEAVIER with every album! "Five Minutes Alone" and "I'm Broken" are tied for my top two. R.I.P. Dime and Vinnie, your contributions to our lives are sorely missed. May Zakk and Charlie do you justice on the upcoming reunion/tribute tour with Phil and Rex.

I do not usually know when I first heard a song, I can give a link to another such WTF moment, but I will not unless asked. Back in the early 90s, we had a party, then we went out to drink some more,, and ended up in another drunken assholles party and then we got back to thar first one and he had just got this new record from Pantera, Oh well. Then I heard Cowboys From the first time... hHell

As a Texas boy who first heard this song, and knew from the first time hearing it this band is different, in ‘94 when I was 5 I love seeing peoples first reactions to Pantera!!!! In a way I’m jealous because I’ll never feel that feeling again with any Pantera song! Hell I missed 3 days of school when Dime was taken from us, that’s how deep my love for the members of this band is… I visit Dimes grave and now Vinnies grave once a year with a few black tooth grins!!

You could catch them in Deep Ellum on any given night when there was a rock show. They were always chatting up anyone that came up to them. They were just huge fans of live music in general and they always made a point to support their locals. RIP

As someone who grew up listening to purely hip hop and recently discovering this type of music I enjoy seeing how people who (probably) grew up listening to the same type of music as me feel about this type of music.. My mother is a rocker, I grew up hearing bands like AC/DC, Guns and Roses, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath and have always enjoyed listening to that sort of stuff but I heard walk for the first time about a week ago and LOVED it.. It’s been sort of a gateway from well known “hard rock” and old school metal into the more heavier stuff.. Some AMAZING music in the genre, and it makes me feel a way music has never made me feel before.. If I’m listening to this sort of stuff then even Mike Tyson best be ready for a beating, go through him like a freight train!..
