I'm really impressed with the Kia/Hyundai EVs, their ICE cars were hard to recommend due to reliability and general build quality, but their EVs are some of the only real competition to Tesla in terms of range per dollar and haven't heard of any huge issues with any of them.

Due to the pricing the Kia telluride will be the preferred option. I would probably look at the wind trim if I was serious about a 3 row EV. With all the discounts and tax rebates it's actually enticing.

9:51 despite part of the screen being blocked by the steering wheel, there’s no other way around it besides having empty bezels filling that portion or having the screen split into two which ruins the aesthetic. I’m a fan of the AWD Wind trim. Costs a lot less. Has a bench seat in the middle that is manual so moves faster. Matte black on the trim rather than the gloss. But it still has heated and cooled seats, sunroofs, same fake leather and the same power train and battery. You lose the head up display and the special lights up front which I think are problematic as I’ve heard the plastic up there doesn’t do well if it’s hit with a pebble. I’d also rather have the 19 in wheels that the Wind has over the 21 inch wheels on the GT line.

GM’s Ultium EVs are better. While Hyundai has focused on the latest battery and charging tech, GM is focusing on bringing down the price and making the battery last as long as possible. As the industry constantly evolves, making the EVs more affordable and long term reliable would be the better priority for most EV consumers. So no, Hyundai is not the best the democracies have against China. It’s GM.

@@mrgurulittle7000 No. Literally Ultium and E-gmp are very similar in terms of BMS and PE system. Because Ultium platform is literally engineered by LG energy solution for GM. LG is doing buissiness in providing solutions to legacy automakers who cannot make competitive EV. LG's solution for them is to engineering EV platform for them. LG energy Solution and Hyundai both's basic BMS and PE system were received support from Korea institute of science and technology (KIST). KIST is governmental organization to aim to technically supporting korean tech companies. Now, Hyudnai/Kia is focusing on bringing down the price of EV. And their first product for that is EV3 and Casper EV. Now, GM is struggling in mass manufacturing Ultium platform. So Hyundai and GM are descided to collaborate to provide "know how" to GM in EV manufacturing. In return, Hyundai will recieve sharing from GM's factory for production in USA.

What strikes me about the Kia/Hyundai EVs in general is the lack of efficiency and range relative to Teslas, for example. I know the RWD Ioniqs and EV6s do pretty well but with the M3 LR RWD getting 4.8 miles/kW and 21 kW/100 miles the Koreans are not that competitive on this front. Might be a weight issue vs Tesla.

A year later and the Carvana trade in is currently $32.4K with 12k miles. If you buy it right, the Tesla resale is not bad, don't listen to the BS media..
