This Omega annual calendar is absolutely stunning. The gorgeous watch dial, the complication and the addition of a display case back is far superior than the more popular branded Rolex. Though, just shy under 7 grand is steep for my standards, it is great value for those that can afford a luxury watch 10 fold than that of this exquisite Omega timepiece. With my collection of vintage watches (Vintage Omega, Timex made in in GB dress watch, vintage Seiko's), each watch under £500, plus few hidden gems such as San Martin 62mas, Russian Vostok, DW5600 G shock and Guanqin gj16034, this Omega is one of my grail watches. What I'd love to see are options for women who don't want some froufrou diamond-covered watch that you can't ever wear. I find myself looking at vintage men's watches from the '50s and '60s because they're cool looking and tend to be about 35mm instead for the 40+mm you see today. I would like to know more about options women have in more modern mechanical/automatic watches. Thanks. :)

@Kristen Schroeder I couldn’t agree more to your comment. When I see what the watch industry offers for women, it’s awful. Or it’s covered with stones and/or it’s some cliche coloured watch (rose, red, whatever). Also the „women“ models are very often way too small, 26-30mm.

I wore a blue dial Globemaster for 3 years. I loved it. It was the most accurate mech watch I ever owned. I traded in a Rolex OP36mm for it, but I have since sold the Globemaster and went back to a Rolex 116000-0009 as my daily watch. I prefer the simplicity. However, I will say ... I wish Omega would continue this Globemaster line with future iterations that recall the evolution of the original late 60s Constellations and offer an even more refined version that removes the pie pan and allows more choices of dial colors, like sunburst gray/black/etc. I liked the blue sunburst dial, but I didn't love it. That was ultimately the reason I sold it and went back to the steel dial Rolex. If the original model Globemaster from 2016 had a gray dial (that wasn't a $40K platinum elite piece), it would be the perfect Omega, IMO.

A calendar watch, being anual or perpetual, is only really useful when you have 3 watches max. When you have a larger collection (and don't like having your watches on automatic winders) it's not all that useful, specially those vintage pieces with no quickset on the date, since you have to set it every time you wear the watch. I know, you could just set the time and leave the date be... but OCD would not allow me to. Still, this Omega is such a great piece! Really love those blued indices and hands.

Looks good! 😍 But a couple of things stops me from buying the watch. 1) the bracelet and clasp, 2) lack of quick set date, and because the hour hand needs to be rotated many revolutions to set the date, I fear for its reliability/ longevity, 3) the 3.5 Hz beat rate not as accurate as Rolex (my 20+ year old speedy pro does 2.8s/d after service by Omega), 4) the 60 hours power reserve is almost half a day less than Rolex. 5) no screw down crown. I have three Rolex already, may be if I have money leftover I might try it on strap or aftermarket bracelet. I might try only because Omega service center near me provides excellent service, otherwise I wouldn’t consider it. Looks good! ❤

This seems like a nice watch. I have a criticism but it is against the complication design and not the company (so applies to all companies). A month and date complication will always be challenged by its day date counter part. When you have all 3, it is simply the next step up from a day date. But in this case you must ask what complication is most important. And since the day changes every day and the month changes once a month, it will usually lose out in importance to the day date. Personal taste, a person may prefer the month date combo but nobody forgets what month it is.

Beautiful Omega Globemaster Annual Calendar at a nice price. I like the transparent case back of the Omega showing the nice rotor and movement.

It would be nice if the '5' were in the centre of the date window.
