So funny story, when I was 16 and I just got my first car (a 1990 Ford Festiva GL auto with AC as a gift from my grandmother) I had a Sony tape deck with a 10 disc CD changer, and I had a Kenwood bass booster (yeah...lmao), and a Blaupunkt 12 in a truck box in the back. It really didn't sound bad. I didn't have much cash back then, but it sounded decent with that car being a hatchback, and I eventually swapped in a 1.6L DOHC turbo Mazda engine into that car with a 5 speed and it hauled ass. My next car was a 1989 Chevrolet Beretta GT with two Orion Cobalt 10s with an unpowered Sony motorized tape deck, the same Sony 10 disc CD changer, a Sony 4 channel 500 watt amp, Infinity Kappa 5x7 split sets in the dash, Infinity Kappa 6.5s in the doors, and a Sony 1000 watt monoblock amp powering the subs.

Off topic, could you possibly test the theory that "low voltage" causes clipping. Im not sold, i think its the other way around, that clipping causes low voltage. Considering lots of amps have operatinv voltages between 11 and 18v, would be interesting to see gains set at ssy 12.8 v then test for clipping at say 11.5. Thanks for reading.
