My daughter many years ago, was just as excited for the garbage men as this little boy. She was sitting on the porch steps waiting and waiting. One day we had a bit of a crisis. She had a plastic horse with wheels She loved to ride back and forth on the sidewalk. Then the horse wheels broke off....couldn't be fixed. We had to throw it away. That day when "Mr Garbage Man" came, she sat there on the steps crying begging him not to take Horsey. Mr Garbageman looked at me with watery eyes and begged me not to make him take Horsey. He said he just couldn't break my 2 year old daughters heart like that. I gave in and we had that dumb broken riding toy horse tied up in the back yard for a very long time. @Mrright87 there's a reason the usa lags way behind for workers rights. I recommend a quick look at the OXFAM report to get some situational analysis coming up to our July 4th national pride holiday. The report compares 56 labor policies across 38 nations that fall roughly into three categories: wage policies, worker protections, and rights to organize. Overall, the U.S. consistently ranks near the bottom: #36 in wage policies, #38 in worker protections, and #32 in rights to organize. These rankings reflect the fact that most other peer nations mandate rights and protections for all workers, while the U.S. regards them as privileges for people in “good” jobs. Underscoring this point is that the U.S. is the only economically-advanced nation that denies its workforce the fundamental right of paid-leave, despite being the richest in the world.

My 2 oldest kid's did this when they were small. It made my ♥ feel good that they looked forward to garbage day in this way. 😁

How sweet ! It’s reminded me of how my growing up my mother and nana said I used to love our mailman and the garbage man ! They work so hard for our community and sometimes they don’t get the recognition for that ! Thank you to all that work hard for our communities ❤

Everyone there is great 😊 Kid sees only a good man that works hard and gives gifts and the man does a good, disgusting hard job for the people. We need more interactions like this 😊

That is so cute!! Bless him, having such a kind warm heart, he's a credit to his parents and it's really refreshing to see given how much nastiness and negativity is getting thrown around by some groups of people these days.

These people contribute so much to our society and I am so glad that this garbage disposal team gets to have their little highlight on their route! We should normalize giving sanitation workers some extra kindness ♡

🥲Showing Love, Respect, and Appreciation is often the result of “lived” experiences. Hate is taught!! I hope and 🙏🏻 that this child continues to spread love, and concern for others. 🥰 *Imagine having a child that admires you, and your job so much that everyday/week he is waiting for you to stop at his house to give you a special treat. That says a lot about this worker’s character, attitude, and how well he performs his duties. 👏🏼Hats off to the sanitation worker!*
