Yeah Achilles flare ups are no fun. I had one over the summer that made even light jogging painful. You can rehab it and run on it once it’s calmed down a bit, but that stiffness can take a long time to return to normal.

There is a way to avoid those.... start training to reach Flare speeds...that way it is possible to avoid hyper tension on tendons. Class dismissed, have a great journey.

Kind of saw this coming when he skipped the Euro XC, was never going to be in his usual indoor shape. Skipping Sierra Nevada though? Seems a little strange as your Achilles won't be under any less pressure at Sea level. Wonder if he's been XC or roller skiing like the good old days?

Taking the indoor season off is a good idea for Ingebrigtsen and probably anybody else who wants an Olympic title. I continue to believe that trying to peak for indoor track season is a bad idea if you are an outdoor contender for a world or Olympic title. Just look at Keely Hodgkinson. Did amazing last year indoors and did not live up to her potential the rest of the year. Why try to peek twice a year? It doesn’t make sense If you want to avoid risk of injury.

He will be fine, tho TEFERA from Ethiopia might become a 3-time indoor WORLD CHAMPION who never made a World outdoor final 😂😂😂 Like how, his PB is what 3:29 high? But yeah the ones to look out for at Paris are Jakob, Wightman, Kerr, Nordas, Nuguse, and Laros, The ones you can never count out are Cheruiyot and Katir (maybe garcia romo aswell) Tho I see most of them not making the podeum if I had to wild guess the finish time will be nothing fancy by Ingebrigtsen standars 3:29 low or 3:28 high and the flags will be 🇬🇧🇳🇴🇳🇱

I like that stock footage you have of him on running tracks, as one of them is on a track surrounding a USA football field. I wonder if that's a 400m track or a 440yd track? 😊 And you don't know which country Glasgow is in; Josh Kerr wants a have a few words with you out back to make sure you never make that mistake again. 😳

When the Achilles gets tendonitis, one cannot train through it. You have to stay off it completely till it heals. That can take weeks or months. It does suck. ... It sounds like he's on the mend. Better to play it safe, as the Olympics is the greater goal.
