An Arabic language site called Tanzih al-Nasab al-Alawi min al-Dukhala' posted several families who attribute their nasab to Alawi or descendants of Sayyidina Ali and Fatima bint Rasulullah. Among the families considered to be lineages is the Alu 'Alawi or Ba'alawi family.
In its post entitled, "Cleaning the Alawi lineage from the Ba'alawi lineage and canceling their claim to the Alawi lineage," the site explains several reasons why the claim of the Ba'alawi lineage as Alawi descent is invalid, including because it is in the previous nasab books and especially the book al-Syajarah al-Mubarakah does not mention a descendant of Ahmad bin Isa named Abdullah or Ubaidillah. Apart from that, in historical records owned by the al-Qabiji al-Huasiniyah al-Najafiyah family, which is a descendant of Ali bin Ahmad al-Muhajir, it is stated that Ahmad bin Isa emigrated from Baghdad to Undunus in 313 AH. However, in the family history inheritance records Ba'alawi stated that Ahmad bin Isa and his son Ubaidillah emigrated from Basrah to Hadhramaut.
