I bought one of these (as someone who had never tried any arcade-style rhythm game controls before) and, in my experience, the touch bar is practically unusable, at least compared to how responsive the input feels with the Switch's regular controllers and even Tap Play. I also can't seem to get the feature of plugging the Switch onto the unit to work like everyone else seems to be able to. I don't have the technical know-how to take the controller apart, and I don't have the personal confidence to call or email anyone about it, so idk what to do lol UPDATE: I have literally no idea what I did differently, but I just got the whole "put the Switch on it and it works" feature to work, and it's fun to play this way. That is, again, except for slide inputs. Either I greatly underestimate how sensitive the touchbar system is meant to be or my particular controller's touchbar is a victim of some kind of manufacturing imperfection.

@caspercruz1416

they wont stick anymore?
@theloanranger2632
2 жыл бұрын
@@caspercruz1416 Absolutely! It makes pressing the buttons so much smoother and more responsive. I was getting desperate because the buttons were sticking or just wouldn't register presses and I would miss notes in the game. I realized the buttons were not sticking because of anything inside the controller but there was too much friction for the buttons to move up and down inside the plastic case. That's why if you push a sticky button on one side it will register when pressed but if you push it on a different side it won't register or get stuck. I believe the video author's solution works because their replacement switches push with enough force so that the friction of the plastic case doesn't matter as much. I'm a newb at soldering and electronics so my solution was using WD-40 Specialist - Water Resistant Silicone which works on plastics and won't short electronics (note this is different than regular WD-40 so make sure you find the right one). I used only a few drops on each of the primary buttons and spread it with a Q-Tip all the way around the bottom so it will fall in the cracks then I pressed each button several times to help spread the lubricant, then I let it dry for a few hours. It WILL smell like WD-40 for a day or two but it goes away.
