Thank you for introducing me to Nordstille. Really great!

70s prog rock is probably the genre I listen to most. I love playing stuff like that for students to show how far you can push music.

I never know if it technically counts as prog but I love putting on "Bat Out of Hell" as a guilty pleasure and seeing the students writhe as they process what the hell they're watching

Camel, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, Yes are my usual go to's for introducing students to 70s prog. Unless I want to see them really struggle to compute. Then I play them ELP. Lol. I also listen to more obscure stuff like Atomic Rooster, Ozz Knozz, and Lucifer's Friend. I only share those with them after they have been properly indoctrinated. Lol

Gjenskinn is exceptional and reminded me of a work that Don Cherry would have been a part of (throwing in a folk/jazz review every now and again would be warmly welcomed). Udåd will become an essential influence in Black Metal which, as you point out, can easily mire itself in monotony - Dödsrit had an equally compelling release last month and it would be interesting if they did something similar to this album. Really enjoyed Rundt Segen - I greatly appreciate the pipes, particularly Brìghde Chaimbeul, and hope it's an instrument that continues to take center stage on future albums. It took a couple times but I was able to detect the prog in From the Infinite Light and have found myself more enthralled with each listen. Similar to @heksedans128, thank you for getting our ears onto Nordstille.

Great thoughts all around - and don't worry, I definitely keep my ears out for folk jazz ;)
