I've made conditioner, a shampoo bar... Which I love idea.. super moisturizing.. bc amount of glycerin.. took a bit to set up. But it did.. and awesome.... Thickening agent sounds wonderful. Once I move, get settled, I'll give this a whirl

Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into all of your videos. I was curious about the 22% ASM for this as a shampoo as this is a little high for a shampoo, although the fact that it contains mild surfactants may make ot ok for most hair types. Is that your thought?
@HumblebeeAndMe
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Annette! ASM recommendations are really just recommendations. They are one piece of the gigantic "it depends" puzzle that is formulating with surfactants. Imagine I told you cakes should only ever contain 10-15% sweetener. What kind of sweetener? Applesauce vs. white sugar vs. stevia would yield very different results. What if the cake contains a lot of something very bitter or sour? How sweet do you want the cake to be? 10-15% will not always be suitable, and the same is true with surfactant products. You really just have to make the thing, try the thing, and see for yourself :)

Another amazing video! I’ve also been loving your ingredient deep dive series and I’m wondering if you can do a video on polysorbates. They seem to be a mainstream ingredient but I just can’t seem to get a hang of using them

I always link all the ingredients for any given formulation in the blog post, which is linked in the description box below the video (that's one of the many reasons I highly suggest reading the blog post as well as watching the video! If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.). I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop. And for some more discussion on ingredients, I recommend these FAQs: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/why-dont-you-only-use-ingredients-that-are-easily-available-globally/ www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/what-ingredients-should-i-purchase-when-getting-started/ www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/is-there-one-place-i-can-buy-everything/ www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/why-do-you-use-so-many-new-fancy-hard-to-get-ingredients/

Hi! You can find the full written formulation in two places-for FREE :) The first place is in the description box below the video. This is simply the ingredient list and quantities. If you're not sure what the description box is, please read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/. The second place is in the free partner blog post that is always linked in the description box below my videos. This contains far more information; the instructions are written out, there's links to places to purchase the ingredients, and there's information on substitutions and scaling. All of my formulation videos have more information in the description box and partner blog post-please make sure you check them out to learn as much as possible. Happy making!
