@@tonymontana3742 I have noticed that some people have trouble with one side but not the other. My wife's car has had 2 CV axle failures on the same side, for example. We had the car 8 years and never had a problem. Then I realized that after we moved to a new place, we are have to make sharp turns and U-turns that we never made before. And those turns are in the same direction. I have started asking my customers if they have similar circumstances and most of them have said yes. I have also noticed that a lot of people wear out brakes on one side faster than the other and there is no problem with the calipers due to similar situations.

They'd put a cat in a car and then check on it the next day. If the cat was hadn't suffocated, ze quality was not adequate.Britain had a similar system. They'd put a cat in a car and then check on it the next day. If the cat hadn't escaped from the car, quality was top notch! Cruel, but still funny joke courtesy of Jeremy Clarkson.

Don't wait for your axles to make a loud clicking noise before you notice the problem. Visually inspect them. A broken axle while going 70 on the highway will flip your car. My axle never made a sound and broke when I made a right turn into traffic. My car was disabled in the middle on the intersection and I had no idea that was coming. Sometimes they don't make noise. If your mechanic suggests a repair, ask them what's the danger if neglected and then decide if it's too expensive

I had a Ford Escort SE and I heard this clicking sound that was intermittent coming from the transmission it sounded like. Turns out that it was a cylinder 3 misfire and it was basically a defect in the engine that was on some forums I read about. I got maybe 13,000 miles out of the vehicle for 2300 dollars. The worst part was that we bought it from a family friend and the mechanic even told me the vehicle ran great. Needless to say, I never bought another vehicle from him again.

I've found that power steering pump noises can sometimes be caused by dirty fluid - Ford Five-Hundred PS pump was making noise, and the fluid was looking pretty nasty. After a complete fluid change, the noise went away and the steering felt much better. Just be careful when draining the fluid, I ended up making a heck of a mess on the garage floor. And the Five-Hundred uses transmission fluid for PS fluid, which smells awful.

I have a 2005 Ford E250, last year I was having handling problems when pulling my 31 foot camper. Replaced shocks, drag link and all connecting linkage. Problem still exited, this went on all summer. In October at the last Fair in Ohio the power steering pump quit pumping some of the time. When I got back home I replaced it, then the problem was gone. Had the van to 3 different alignment shops during the summer and none of them found out that the pump persure was fluctuating causing all the problems. I replaced all the parts myself so didn't shell out lots of money for labor or I would be living in a cardboard box. LOL Enjoy your videos, you might want to mention this rare problem as 3 certified mechanics missed it. I only found out after it quite pumping properly.

One of the first major repairs I had to make on my first car was to replace the steering pump in my 1983 Camaro. We purchased a new pump but there was a problem: the wheel on the pump needed to be removed from the old pump and out on the new one. It required a special tool that the guy at the parts store "forgot" to tell us about. Oh, he also "forgot" to tell us that they would loan it to us, because most of their customers would only use it once. So, we tried everything we could think of to pull the wheel until it was bowled up and ruined. Thankfully, the salvage yard had a pump with a wheel that they sold us for $15.00 (this was in the mid 1990's). We returned the new pump. The manager at the parts store was not happy that his employee's negligence cost them a $90.00 sale.

Hearing squee, squee, squee from the engine compartment as you're driving means that you need to go straight to Petco to get some hamster chow for those hungry hamsters under your hood.

I was always instructed to never put anything with lubrication properties on the serpentine/fan belt because it can slip off the smooth pulleys, and it makes them chirp....

Great advice Scotty. Don't make the mistake I made many year's ago. I tried replacing a power steering hose ( high pressure) with just a piece of rubber hose and a radiator clamp. We were in my brother's new garage, and then we started it. Needless to say, it was very messy, lol.
