Practice each hand separately at a slow tempo until it feels comfortable. Typically, I break up a big section into smaller chunks and practice each chunk 5-7 times until I can play them without mistakes... If I mess up, then I start back from 1 and try to play it correctly 5-7 times in a row before I move on to the next chunk. Once I can play each chunk without mistakes, I'll put more and more chunks together until I can play the entire section without making mistakes (for one hand). I repeat this same process for the other hand. Using a metronome, gradually increase the tempo for each hand (still separate) until you can play each hand at regular speed. Once that's comfortable, put both hands together and play it at a VERY VERY slow speed... something like 40bpm or even slower, if needed. Repeat it 5-7 times at each tempo marker until you can play it without mistakes... then increase the tempo by 4-6 bpm at a time.

Piano isn’t my main instrument but I’m half decent at it. I loved how with the C chord you just simply said “there’s no better way to describe it than to just play it… I’ll play it slow and let you analyze it as we go”. As soon as you said that my brain went from “that looks impossible” to “okay let’s break it down and figure it out”. I’m still having trouble putting the left and right hand together but it’s slowly coming along. If you have any tips for practicing it more effectively I’m all ears

I'm not good at giving compliments to people, but just know that you've urged me to play piano for the 1st time in 12 years since I've quit music school (Ive been studying there for 2 years and hated both the educational system and the compositions we were forced to play). Thank you very much for inspiring me! It's super hard to start again, I practiced the whole evening and now only able to play the intro, but I'm not going to give up!

I recently completed Minute by Minute by the Michael McDonald and the Doobie Brothers. I'm a 60's trained musician that studied through college and then stepped away from my music for 20 years. When I decided to pick up where I left off, I was knocked off my feet. There are Keyboards with a TRANSPO button on it. lol That told me that most musicians are not trained to read music, they can transpo from one key to another with no knowledge of what a scale is. Then people like you got on this internet and turned it OUT! There are beginners that have heard of Jerry Lee Lewis and want to play and look good while whaling away at a keyboard/piano but will walk away from this video as soon as you started naming the chords in this song. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of this song. I know boogie woogie pretty good but needed to know exactly where this song was starting and ending as far as chord structure and bass pattern. If you ever visit a Baptist church in my neighborhood, you will no doubt hear a similar style being played with members swing from the ceiling shouting. The devil has NOTHING to do with moments like that in my church. (chuckling) Bless You Young Man!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ The riffs comes from the 1870s which were the days when boogie Woogie music burst onto the stage. Soon I’ll make a video that shows how and where all this actually came from. I just noticed he keeps forgetting the turn around. Which resolved the three chords each time. He also forgets to hit the first note of the beginning of each base run extra hard.

Hey it's me (again) and I just REALLY want a cover of either "dazzle" or "body gold" by Oh Wonder. I know twitter is where I need to really request songs, but I've lost my twitter details. These songs hold a special place in my heart, and remind me of when my sister and I went to Cape Verde last summer with the family. We lost most of our music because there wasn't any wifi. I'd be so happy if I could play it, but try as I might, I am seemingly incapable. There fairly simplistic songs and they sound beautiful. If you could at least listen to them and tell me what you think, I'd really appreciate it 😅 I understand if you can't btw there's no pressure😂

Anyone else here bc of Top Gun😂🙋🏼♂️ But seriously man this was great! I don’t realllyy play piano and people say, oh you should play piano cuz you have long figures, and I do play a little. Don’t really know anything just mess around and play things that sound nice and then I come on YT and look for songs I can play. This being one of them😂 but this was honestly not as hard as I thought, if you do over and over and over you’ll get it right,; if you’re experienced you’ll get it even faster ofc. So I’m pretty happy with how I’m doing and will definitely come back and keep on practicing😌thanks so much for making this video🔥❤️

What a brilliant clear to understand lesson, I bought Mitch Woods boogie woogie lesson dvd it was crap, this what a good lesson is about making it easy for some of us slow learners. Nice one!

Country boogie woogie, heavy leaning on rockabilly.
