My son was going to drug treatment and my mother came over to see him. She prayed for him with me before she left. I went upstairs and he asked were you just up here I saw a shadow of someone in the other bedroom I told him no I was saying goodbye to your Andma. About ten minutes later a friend that had not spoke to him in 8 years called and said man you not going to believe this but God told me to call you. My son did not believe in God at that time. He had always wondered why God had not revealed himself to him when he had asked for years and when he Od years earlier. This is one of the reason he has stayed clean for five years and is a devoted Christian and is a sponsor for addict and volunteers in homeless shelters and food bank. Our job as Christians is to be representative of Christ and be a light to a dark world. Christ did not force people to believe in Him and we cannot force people to believe in Him. We believe what we believe and we do not waver. We offer it up to people and they either believe or they don't. The scripture of sowing seeds explains it well. Some seed will fall on hard ground and just die, some will fall on semi-fertile ground and will take hold but will eventually die and other seeds will fall on fertile ground, will take hold and will flourish. As someone who has followed Jordan Peterson for nearly 5 years now, read his 2 most recent books, and listened to hundreds of hours of his podcasts (his or one's he's been on) as well as saw one of his lectures in person, I can say confidently that his position on this question has evolved and he actually is MORE of a believer than he was at this point, which I think was from late 2018 or early 2019. I think he, as he has investigated this deeply, is a believer, I cannot know for certain, but I believe it to be true to see how he speaks about it now. I think the question of god comes down to whether someone believes that there is more to our existence than this life or not. If a person believes that when we die it's all over, the lights go out and everything we are no longer exists, then they don't believe in god. A believe in god comes from knowing we existed before this life, and when we die, we move on to another existence. With that is an understanding that what we do in this life matters and is an important part in being able to move on, or progress to the next chapter in our existence. There is of course more to it than that, but that was the best short answer I could come up with without having to write a mini novel. I love you two and look forward to your future videos.

I find people who get more reactive or start attacking anyone or finding ways to break down and turn what they say...that person is being super defensive and usually their thoughts or beliefs are being challenged. I truly believe that a person grounded in their faith, nothing is going to upset or make them upset if you question or challenge them. If they do....well there's your sign. Cuz otherwise you should be able to just share and exchange ideas and info without needing to attack them. At least that's how it is for me anyways. I don't get upset if people chose to believe differently, don't like what I believe or do understand it.

I've had my faith challenged by those on the internet many times and by those from the Moorish Science Temple, which is 'loosely' based off of Islam and their five pillars (stay away from those who have el , bey/vey before or after their first/last names) There's always an easy scientific way to explain many things in the Bible actually as far as the old testament goes but for things that are more riddle like and prophetic, that's where it gets tricky. But every time I get challenged, I do my research and I only grew stronger in faith of God. I loved fairy tales as a child and I knew mythology from Egypt and Greece/Rome were fairy tales. But not the Bible. My gut tells me it was real.

I love y’all. Hopefully y’all read this, imma try n keep it short. Raised as a Baptist, became an atheist, which led me to a personal relationship with GOD. Being willing to challenge my beliefs and opinions by researching and engaging with people that disagree created an amazing spiritual growth. It also isolated me from anyone that didn’t love me for me. A blessed journey. 3rd time trying to condense this: Science taught me to “test” what I’ve been told. Reason led me to deny what I was taught as being 100% true. Then combining the 2 led me back… Religious, atheist, or agnostic; it all ends in the same place: there was a beginning (and will be an end) to our understanding of time, space, and matter. Trying to understand, claim to KNOW, or trying to prove anything beyond our time, space, or matter is a matter of FAITH. I believe that’s why Peterson is so hesitant on Jesus’ resurrection. Trying to explain the unexplainable, when you didn’t witness it, is never going to be simple. 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 sums it up

So basically Jordan Peterson describes god as a more amorphous being in a very broad term that covers all our fundamental elements of our morality. By his logic, if an atheist wanted to steal a nice watch from a store and had the opportunity to do so but chose not to than he/she must believe in god in some way because they made the moral decision not to do it, thus acting as if god exists. Never mind that there are security camera's/personnel and laws written that would punish the atheist. Perhaps the reason they chose not to steal the watch was not because they fear eternal damnation but because they just don't want to go to prison. The ironic thing is that many if not most laws were written by those who do fear god and damnation and so by obeying those laws you are involuntarily living as if god is real, not because he is, but because laws were made under the assumption he is so it creates a no win argument for the atheist. The reason god/gods is/are so fundamental to so many peoples is because our ancient ancestors did not know why the rain fell or the thunder roared or the mountain spit fire. They did not have the science to explain it all so they created stories and gods to give these natural forces personalities that can be reasoned with, and they did this because of two reasons. One is because the human mind hates an unsolved puzzle and when we lack the means of uncovering the truth of something, we create assumptions and placeholders until we can develop the science to uncover the truth, these answers may not come for generations or even millennia so these placeholders get ever deeper ingrained in tradition. The second reason is mankind cannot accept a total lack of control and so if these forces are governed by gods that can be worshiped, prayed to, and sacrificed to, then we create a feeling that we have some say in when the rains fall or keeping the volcano asleep and happy. Our prayers, rituals, sacrifices do nothing but we want to believe they do because that makes us feel like we had some influence over the forces of nature. It is because of these ancient beliefs and stories we tell of the gods we created being passed down for generations, centuries and millennia that is why Peterson feels that god/gods are so fundamental to humanity because in many ways it/they are. But as science uncovers the truth of why the rains fall, the gods of the rains fade into myth and fiction. The field of volcanology killed the angry mountain fire gods. The study of both meteorology and astronomy killed the gods of the sea and storms as we now know why clouds form over the ocean and why the tides rise and fall. The only god left to fall is the "One true god" of the Abrahamic faiths that claims to be the supreme creator and authority above all and he is so deeply engrained in middle eastern and western so society that it is no easy task of science to achieve. People are stubbornly engrained in their faith so deeply that even when presented with the science of dozens of fields they still refuse or explain away anything that challenges their faith in a being that is constantly being disproven to exist.

There are many atheists, especially intellectual atheists, that want Jordan Peterson to take a side, Christian or not Christian. Because if he says he's now Christian they will then discredit him and write him off. The thing about JP is that he's on his God journey, which we can't fault him for, many of us have been there. Pray for JP to fully accept Christ as his personal savior. He is almost there. ♡

Hey y’all, it’s me again! This video is complex, every1 should watch it at least twice. First and foremost, this is NOT an intellectual discussion between two individuals; it is another smear attempt reminiscent of the infamous BBC interview. The mediator is by no means neutral in his speech or his body language. His pandering and underhanded behavior rivals Bill Maher. JP does his best, but he struggles a bit once the audience is turned on him. We all know that unwarranted defamation by a group is JPs kryptonite. And why attack the man’s personal faith here? Regardless, I hope these two meet again in a different setting. Anyways, thx you guys. Good work, good vibes, and God bless. (PS “Almost certainly not.” That is the correct answer! I’m a Christian. I think what Jordan Peterson was describing was the Concept of God vs The “Lore” of God. I believe his argument is that the concept of God is interwoven in biology and social relationships. We all have a concept of what God is based on our behavior and praised virtues. An Over Virtue. The “lore” of God I believe is where religion & atheists comes in. You may disagree with who, what, when, where and why. But even in the absence of a story to frame “Him” God exists. It’s about interpretation of the relationship between us and the divine.

i've listened to this and his bible lectures a few times now and am starting to get my head around what he's saying. sometimes it sounds like a lot of words at once the way he's saying it but then i also know that Sam Harris, and Bret Weinstein whatever they are, they are not slow. "the truthful speech that rectifies pathological hierarchies" i mean, that's what he does a lot of in his interviews really. he doesn't lie, and he says what he means and he tells people about themselves to their face no matter how high up the chain they are. "confronts the chaos of being itself and generates habitable order." that's metaphorical like "let there be light" but it's also the work of a teacher or psychologist helping people understand the world and themselves and make breakthroughs. and then God he says is this action expressed in its ultimate form across all time. creating everything at that level and all levels. for the individual, the family, the society, nature, the cosmos.

@Miff Evolution of data sets based on individual contribution over time also include personal bias, influence from the Era the individual lives in, as well as the distribution of data sets from each Era. This all leads to a completely subjective data set. It can't be escaped no matter how hard you try. Objective truth, Morality etc has to come from a mind before the human mind, that mind belongs to God.
