In the race we had the 5 fastest 100m sprinter ever. With Bolt the fastest human ever. The two second fastest sprinter ever with Blake and Gay (9.69). (Blake also second fastest ever at 200m). Powell the fourth fastest ever set 4 (!) world records over the 100 meter and run the most races under 10 seconds (88) and the most races under 9.9 (41) And Gatlin the 5th fastest ever won Olympics 2004 and run also an world record over 100m but with an positive doping test. @@kohsmoger1567 Yes it was close. But what I mean is the profile of the runners and the form they were in. For example, the winner in this year's race with a time of 9.79 was the bronze position in 2012 (Gatlin)... Bolt clocked 9.63, Blake 9.75 and Gatlin 9.79. They were like Gods on the track

@@Someone-hi1ntYes.They ran good.But they achieved their personal bests in doing so.Lyles won with his best time ever.Whereas that 2012 line up ran a whole lot better than Lyles PB .They ve ran 9.75 each or better.U can actually say that in the 2012 line up,Gatlin with his PB of 9.74 is the "slowest" .Which is insane .But considering that u had Bolt (9.58) Gay(9.69) Blake (9.69) and Powell (9.72) ,the 2024 race,altough suspensfull, was not even close to the 2012 race.

Well...only 5 men went 9.75 or better...guess who?! Bolt 4 times/Gatlin 3 times/Powell 2 times/Blake 3 times/Gay 2 times.That s how u see the greatness in a race.There are only 62 times when 9.8 or better was ran...and 43 times out of those 62, these 5 people ran them.Only Bromell,Kerley and Thompson managed to be there 8 times combined from this new generation,but none of them under or equal 9.75.So yeah...this was the pinnacle of 100m.

I've recently heard ppl say the 2024 Olympic final was the greatest and I think how quickly we forget the 5 fastest men in history, ran in 2012. The 2024 race was close, but close doesn't equal great, this 2012 race was the greatest. Someone had to come 4th and by share luck whoever came 4th would probably come 1st at any other point in history.

This era was the best. You all made track and field fun. Tyson Gay was my favourite American sprinter but Justin. You have taken that spot based on your humility, passion and grace. You took number also after the Rio Olympics. So much love and admiration for you fam. Bless up.
