Love the enthusiasm. Not sure it's for me but at that price I should give it a try.

I do enjoy this whisky too... Definitely great for the price... All this series seems to be well priced... I did purchased a few different bottles couse I do like whiskys from refill casks, good balance between cask and distillery character... Cheers... Great review as always.... 🤜🤛

I bought this and I have the same reaction - it's not like any other whisky I've had, but I enjoy drinking it and that's the whole point!

I got this bottle for all the same reasons as you did. £19 delivered?? That's worth a punt and it's surprisingly pleasant. It doesn't take you on a big flavour adventure but it is nice. Would I pay £40 for 8? Absolutely not but for the price it's being sold at?? I might even get another!

Hello! What do yo think about price of Independent bottler whisky in 2023? Many people say the cost of Scotch whisky factory keep increasing, there are less ages whiskey will be in the market. It’s hard to buy the whisky now. More and more special cask or young age whisky is coming to the market. May you give us some advice how to buy the good quality whisky in the future. Thank you

Thanks for reviewing, Ben. MoM unfortunately not available here. And delivered for less than £20 at my doorstep?.... I doubt it (and so does EU Customs) Slàinte mhath

I won't be able to pick this up in Germany, but I enjoyed your run down on the background to this bottling and your tasting notes. Yep, it is fascinating to get your hands on a single cask bottling like this one for such a minimal price. As enthusiasts we're used to single cask bottlings at much higher prices. It sounds as though the cask was sold to a broker as it may have been relatively inactive and wouldn't have suited the distillery's house style for its core range. And - because it's a tad left of field - that provides the interest. For 20 GBP it would have to compete with Shackleton's blended malt or Tomatin's Legacy (NAS), which are both in my opinion good malt whiskies, but of course not single cask bottlings. So you've certainly got hold of a novum. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers.

Sounds like the Cask Speyside 10 sample I tried. So prickly I wished it was 40%

Yeah kudos to M of M , I might get this as I have the Spey Trutina CS 59.9% batch #2 that is the palest in my bar but surprisingly easy to sip after letting it breath , that one blends nicely too & gives a honey profile when mixed with malty versions Ex-Bourbon casks & left to settle. Try a 30ml sample bottle to start due to the low abv , a potential win / win .

I think if you have £20 kicking about to make an order up (might even be worth it for the free delivery, I’d say go for it!). I’m actually quite keen to try a few more of the Spey offerings as some of the samples I’ve had are absolute belters! Cheers! 🥃🥃

Highly reccomend their 24 year old speyside. For £99.95 grab a delicious bargain.

A non-chill filtered whisky bottled at 40% is an oddity to say the least. It does not look hazy or cloudy as the experts say happens to an non-chill filtered whisky bottled under 46%. What gives?

You’ll only really find that it goes hazy or cloudy if you allow it to get cold, or drop the temperature by adding water or ice! Provided it’s kept at room temperature those compounds (long-chain fatty acids and esters… if you were interested!) don’t stick together (flocculate) and make it look hazy! That’s the basics of it, anyways. Cheers! 🥃🥃
