Being from the Faroe Islands it was so weird, but a beautiful surprise to hear you singing in Faroese! Great pronunciation, people often sound more Icelandic than Faroese when trying to pronounce Faroese words. So happy I clicked on this video, would love to hear a longer version from you. Ógvuliga vakurt, Malinda!

@@catharinaholm6035 -ll is sometimes pronounced -dl. For example in Trølla/trødla, pallur/padlur (english = stage) and øll/ødl (en. = all/everyone). It can also just be like a longer -l, like in brillur (en. glasses). I can’t remember right now, if there are other ways it is pronounced in other words. She is maybe pronouncing it more as a long -l or a very soft -dl, which I think is okay for singing. Sounds more like a style choice than a mispronounciation, though it was probably not intended as that.

I felt this song. It tells me about the long journey that awaits us,and having to say goodbye to my loved ones . In search for something a cure or sacred and rare medicine to save our village from the spread of an unusual and unknown sickness that plagues our village. And the dangerous journey to find it may cost the lives of the ones searching, but it is the risk that has to be taken. And the song is a fair well song in case we are not successful, our blessings.🎉

@antonio price it must be reaching all the way down to your deepest inner-puttz. This kind of over-the-top whiny and wailing gibberish bullshit, is exactly what and why the Irish were caused to be left alone and suffering without sympathy or help from anyone. Trust me man, my ol' lady's entire family are Irish. Most of them are still over there, and only her and her parents and three siblings are here now. Her old man has these monthly "music nights" where a bunch of Irishmen and women that all met over here in the city, will go over to his place and play instruments and all sing this kind of stuff, all together, and sometimes sorta on top of each other's toes. I'll tell you friend, having to sit through this shit for any extended length of time gets real old, real quick. Your balls will positively be busted beyond all recognition, and any hope or prayer for repair.

I am of Swedish/danish descent, with some Native American ancestors as well, in the United States! And I love making connections like this too, music and singing, like a lot of other things actually, are so universal, and these universal things reflect each other. It’s so beautiful and deep and abundant, and you capture that! And this song captures the journey of our ancestors. I feel like this is like, light language story telling. Yanno. But so many things are ? 🥲😆🥰 we thought it was rare, but we are rediscovering that magic that always has lived within. I am so overjoyed and honored to be on earth right now with all of you 🙏🫶

Heh, didn't expect a song in my own language when I clicked this. Your pronunciations have a twist of an Icelandic accent, which really only adds to the charm. Really well done - stórsligið (epic)! I'm looking forward to the next Faroese song - maybe a Týr cover or something .. 😉

Where in Ireland is this spoken? I have both Irish heritage and Vikings in my background and my family was from County Donegal. Wondering if they may have spoke this.

The music, her voice is Is stirring my soul And it touches the deepest parts of your brain to put you in like a trance. It's kind of like opera you don't have to understand the words to get the meaning. With this song you just feel it.

I agree! As a girl it’s refreshing to see a beautiful woman who looks natural and isn’t wearing 10 tons of nasty makeup jumping around stage in a see through glitter body suit, shaking her oversized fake butt while blurting dumb lyrics in a mouse voice!
