Many of these tips also apply to racecars on road courses. If you use your body to feel the road and how the car feels you'll drive significantly better.

Cool, same here. I've done dirtbikes all my life, nothing can ever replace them. Then last year (@ 59 y.o.) I just decided to get a brand new DD2 - spec'd race kart, practice and start racing @60. I really did it as a personal challenge, to see if I'm still able to be competitive, then anyhow I got 1st place against the local 2-consecutive year champion. Karts are as different to bike, as in day and night. Dirtbikes taught me to be tough and disciplined. Good luck to you, and please put a heart rate monitor belt on (as a precaution), because the G-forces are very serious, and puts your heart muscle on high stress mode. Be safe👍

That is great- to extend on your off road example, the secret in mountain biking (recently returned to this after 20 years away) is to look at the path you want to take, not at the things or path you want to avoid.

I had this problem that I went too early into the corner...and obviously I came out too early... I noticed that when I hit my braking mark I started to look apex.. I changed that when I hit my braking point I keep looking forward, and when I want to turn then I look the apex. I found that when I did this my braking was more stable, my turning is super fast and the most important, my entry is not too early!

Must agree with many comments & I would just like to add, maybe this is why when like at 8:46 in the video you are looking at the rider in front and watching his lines, trying to catch up, if he's in first and your in 2nd you make gains in time because your looking at him so far ahead without looking at the floor and catch up without realising what your doing but your obviously a pro and do this anyway without a rider in front of you. Ive never been on a motorbike on the track but considering taking my zzr1400 to a track day some time. Great video and full a master class in how it's done..

Excellent video… I just started riding again after 20 years. Today I was a really crappy rider. This video is helping me figure out why… I used to race and the public roads I used were more like private tracks (lesser used mountain roads…) and I live in a new area, with really difficult and challenging roads with continual hazards… and my brain is all confused because of the fight between wanting to look ahead and the need to spot hazards…. Also nearly every turn is a blind turn… I need a racetrack…
