Thanks everyone for the overwhelming support. I usually reply to comments, but there's a ton of you this time around. I am okay, not a scratch, and the XR will be fixed eventually. I will make another video assessing the damage to the bike and talking a bit about what caused the incident. In the meanwhile, the Tuono will be seeing all the action; it's got some big shoes to fill like the saying goes.

Feels awful seeing this. I'm not gonna lie aside from the bent forks on mine it came away with a lot less damage than yours, I'm surprised, given the crash bars, and that it was a lowside. Hopefully, it's not as bad as it looks...

Oh no! I did pretty much the same thing on my S1000XR last year on a favorite twisty back road, fast in a turn and leaned over so nicely, felt great about life right until grinding the peg lifted the rear wheel and low sided to the outside of the turn. Thankfully the bike didn't tumble and the crash bars did their job and it was not too badly damaged. On the rest of the ride home my thoughts were centered on, "welp, I am not Cuban Rider. I am not Cuban Rider. I need to remember that I am not Cuban Rider." It was alarming to come to the realization that my comfort level had gotten steadily higher to the point I was maxing out the ability of the bike and not really aware of how little I was leaving on the table at that speed/lean. A good ego check for myself. Sad as I am to see you go down in the same way I did, it's some consolation that we're all fallible. But still, I am not Cuban Rider. I am not Cuban Rider. I am not on a track. I am not Cuban Rider. Take it easy friend, and thank you for sharing these videos; they're definitely hard. Sadly, I didn't have footage rolling during mine. You continue to be an inspiration.

Wow.... VERY interested to hear CR's revelation/analysis on just what happened. He had not jumped back on the throttle yet and was actually still slowing using engine braking, so the tires would have been nicely loaded. The lean angle wasn't severe, either. Although the video did not show any dark spots on the track, I am guessing (and hoping) it was oil or antifreeze on the track. As an S1000XR Track Day rider; this one is going to keep me awake for a few nights.

Glad you're okay!! Bit of advice regarding rollovers, try to give it a few minutes upright as being upside down can actually cause the oil to get past the cylinder heads and you can actually hydraulically lock your engine just like a hydrolock from water ingestion. Looks like it was a pretty quick rollover so hopefully nothing got through - but good bit of advice. This info is on most heavy equipment in case the operator ever rolls it over - usually they'll pull the plugs and turn the engine over a few times before actually starting.

I did same thing on track on my Tuono last Nov. Started dragging right peg and then lost rear end. Bike slid exactly like yours and did not flip, but I was somersaulted after I hit grass and tweaked my shoulder after a fairly hard impact. Nothing broken but still is not right after 2.5 months but getting better. Not sure if I lifted the rear from too much pressure on peg or the rear just lost traction as I was way to the outside of somebody for a pass and off the line by a good bit. Only damage on my bike was rear pipe which was bent and engine cover and bar end. These were the only points of contact during the slide. I did not have frame sliders but my faring was not touched luckily. I spent about $1,600 on new pipe and "gabro" tune + GB racing covers for engine. I would have been replacing pipe down the road anyway as it was OEM. Bizarre/Sureal feeling to say the least to be at full lean one second and then riding the pavement the next! Glad you are OK
