Dimebag Darrell, was murdered in 2004 while on stage performing in Ohio with his new band Damageplan. His brother Vinnie Paul, who was the drummer for Pantera and Damageplan, witnessed his brother get shot 5 times in the back of his head, by some deranged Pantera fan. Who blamed Dimebag for Pantera's breakup. 4 other people besides Dimebag were killed, and 3 others wounded before the shooter was shot and killed by a Columbus police officer. His brother died in his sleep in 2018 due to heart desease. RIP Dimebag & Vinnie Paul!!

Pantera were THE band to see in the early 90's, pure chaos at their gigs, bodies flying off the PA, from the circle down into the stalls, sweat running down the walls, broken limbs were common. This festival "Monsters of rock" Moscow Russia 1991 is a historical mark, this happened little before the dissulotion of the Soviet Union and in the same year that the curtain fell. It was the first open air concert to happen in the country and it gather an incredible amount of people -1.6 million- making it one of the biggest crowds to this date. The bands that perfomed were Pantera, Metallica, The black crowes and Ac/Dc. Pantera was the first band to perform and they hyped the crowd like crazy. Now imagine being there, imagine this being the first concert you go to. Its just insane.

This was a free show that took place a few weeks after the failed August Coup by Soviet hardliners. The failure of this coup marked the effective end of communism in the Soviet Union, and the concert was held to thank the young people that stood up for the reform government against the hardliners. It also featured AC/DC, Metallica, and the Black Crowes. The accepted estimate is 1.6 million in attendance, although there is no official count

Half, "That's what you sound like when your yelling at me"....so how comfortable was the floor in the living room last night? Hahahaha!!! Half and Jai, The guitarist in Pantera, the one you were commenting on is Dimebag Darrel ( Darrel Lance Abbot). He sadly died in 2004. Eddie Van Halen, of VAN HALEN, personally placed one of his iconic black and yellow striped guitars in Dimebag's coffin at the funeral, the guitar was custom built by Eddie himself, who custom built all of the guitars he played. Darrel was loved by many musicians because he was such a good hearted and down to earth guy as well as an incredible guitarist. Eddie died just last year on October 6, 2020. Maybe do a reaction to some Van Halen. Van Halen had 3 different singers, David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar, and Gary Cherone. Roth and Hagar really were the 2 frontmen who brought so much personality to Van Halen. Keep Safe Always, Matt
