Make sure you band the legs in different colors for each homestead you get your poults from, that way you can keep track of good/bad providers. I would also suggest taking the 2 little ones out of the plastic box. They will not get "lost" in the brooder and they will also have the opportunity to get out from under the lamp if they are too warm. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

I agree. They need the opportunity to get out from under the lamp to not get too hot. The little buds are so cute. Maybe Dip and Dap would be suitable as names for now😊

Thanks for the update I've been thinking about you guys and those beautiful babes. I used to be afraid of chicken's until my friend changed my mind with her baby Lucy. I think I would be a proud Momma like you with these little turkey's. I'm happy you took us along the process. I loved seeing how excited the boys were you guys are giving them great memories they'll cherish for the rest of there lives. I just love your videos. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.

Well you learn something new every day they say and sometimes I feel that is so true. Today I learned a baby turkey is called a chick or a poult. Never heard of poult before, other than from the word poultry. I just never thought about it all. Thanks for teaching me something new at the age of 56. Sorry only 2 were viable and I hope the shipping company got charged as well as learn they lesson! Lots of love and hugs from back in ON, Canada...Cas 💖

So cute! One of them looks like they have what’s called “pasty butt“. It’s basically when their poop sticks to their feathers just below where it comes out. You may want to gently wipe that with a cotton ball with warm water on it so it doesn’t gum up the works. 🙃

You can use a sheet or blanket or a piece of cardboard to close off part of your brooder, but they need to be able to get away from that lamp if it's too hot. Also... re the incubator... did you have a hydrometer inside of it? The thermometers on the incubators are infamous for being inaccurate. It's too late for the ones that didn't make it, but in the future, it's a good idea to have a back up in there, that you can rely on. Glad to see it's all going so good! Looking forward to seeing what you bring home from your trip! Good job you guys!!!

I watch your channel every time a video goes up and I understand the disappointment about your turkey eggs. With this said there is no one to blame about your eggs. If an egg is fertile it's fertile but if it's not there is nothing you or anyone else can do. We have incubated eggs for several years... 🦃, 🦆, 🐔 and guineas. We store our eggs in bowls in one of our rooms until we get enough to incubate so the post office not getting your order to u in time wasn't' the issue...the eggs were just not fertile. The second thing is the eggs should have been wrapped better to ship because possibly the cracked ones were fertile, who knows. I know you watch the internet to learn but when we put the eggs in the incubators we leave them with only opening if the humidity level is low and your incubator will beep at you if it needs more water. Then on day 25 or 26 we open to take out the turners and put the eggs on the bottom. We check several times a day on the eggs. If a chick seems to be having trouble getting out of the shell, should be out within 24 hours, we bust open the egg to give life to the chick. Some make it some don't. We usually leave our eggs that haven't been hatched for two more weeks after the 28 days and sometimes we get more chicks, sometimes we don't. You're doing good but your eggs just were not fertile ❤❤.. the male 🦃 wasn't doin his job .. lol

What sweet little babies! What about naming them for the day of the week they hatched? They each came on a different day, didn't they? Glad you have found another way to add to your flock. You are establishing a great base for the future of your homestead. It's wonderful being able to see all your progress. It might not have been the results you all hoped for but you do have live chick's, will soon have more, and you have a beautiful breeder for them and a nice outdoor space too that will serve you well for years to come.
