This video was solely sponsored by the product and company, Ground News! I honestly do not think that the earthquake swarm adjacent to Enmedio is volcanic in origin. Although, a volcanic explanation is technically possible. On the topic of Terceira, the location of earthquakes has expanded slightly to the west, hence the raised alert level on the west flank submarine ridge.

Interesting that both of Kīlauea’s eruptions in 2024 occurred on the rifts, and not at the summit like what was seen from 2020 through 2023.

What does this mean? I'm genuinely asking, does it indicate the land is breaking further than what is usual? Thank you in advance x

While the Canary islands earthquake swarm may very well be tectonic in origin caution should be advised to not rule out a possible magmatic origin as they don't meet all the typical hot spot criteria with all but one of the islands having erupted at some point within the Holocene. The islands while fed by a deep mantle source also have all been active for millions of years without much appreciable progression like would be expected from a typical hot spot track. The seismic tomography indicates the mantle upwelling source is highly inclined and the low sheer velocity discontinuity is fairly unfocused through the area so if it is a plume it's volcanism is still largely focused on major crustal weak point lineaments which allow magma to reach the surface from deep below. The origin of this volcanism last I checked was still un settled in academia.

Question. Could you go over the largest new areas of land created from magma entering the ocean since 2000 or 1900 something.

I find it concerning that Kanlaon may erupt extremely violently given the extraordinary levels of gas without an eruption. Hopefully, my fears will come to naught.

Fun fact: "Enmedio" means "In the middle".

It's too bad that the Kanlaon sulfur dioxide was solely at a low level. It would have done some good at stratospheric levels.

By coincidence, I took a photo at 19.373739,-155.150131 overlooking the area of the new lava field. I'm curious if it would be of any interest to geologists studying the eruption because it is really in the middle of nowhere.

hilarious that the underwater volcano IN between the two canary islands is called "enmedio" which literally translates to "in between"
@davidcranstone9044
Күн бұрын
Why hilarious? It is named 'in between' because that is what it is - just as North Dakota is named (I presume) because it is north of South Dakota rather than by a hilarious coincidence.

@@davidcranstone9044 that's the cases for 2 places having the same name, but even an underwater volcano between islands in the Caribbean has a more fun and interesting name than just "in between" it is what it is, but i just find it lazy that's what they went for, a d therefore just hilarious

Are there any volcanoes ejecting any type of silica which has never been tested before? I just wonder if the chem trail silica that some are saying it's coming from the release of jet airliners, is actually coming from the silica already in the air from volcanoes.

And I have always pronounced it tenerreef, which is the normal UK pronunciation. Which makes the previous commenter's point about giving GH a break - and for every other minor issue of pronunciation - we can't expect GH to know the correct pronunciation of names in every language of the world, however close to your heart your own may be.
